I just spent an amazing weekend in Wellington (which is the capital city of New Zealand, for all of my overseas readers who don’t know much about the country I live in), where I got to celebrate plus size fashion, meet some great new people, catch up with old friends, eat delicious food, attend Wellington Fashion Week and photograph some gorgeous women for my Fat Girls Shouldn’t Wear Stripes project. Trend Tip: Summer Sandals
Summer is wedding season, and a good friend of mine is getting married in a few weeks. Dilemma – I need something to wear! I have the frock sorted, but after staring blankly into my shoe closet I realised that I no longer own any sandals – how did that happen? That means I have to go shopping – and so, here are ten of my fave pairs of sandals for this summer (no, I am not buying them all, no matter how much I might think I need them – 2014 Meagan is attempting to save…). This is the first photo I ever took of Amber, and if you made it along to my recent exhibition, you’ll recognise it as being one of my collector’s item postcards. I chose this to be one of my two postcard designs because for me it really embodies what Fat Girls Shouldn’t Wear Stripes is all about – feeling comfortable in your own skin, being confident, and embracing fashion despite being told certain things are “not for you” because of your size
