Style It: The Perfect Winter Brunch Outfit

Welcome to the weekend! I love going for brunch with my friends in the weekend – it’s a time when we can catch up on each others weeks and enjoy a great meal together. I’ve selected a few pieces from ASOS to create what I think is the perfect brunch outfit.

The team at ASOS asked me to style up a few outfits for the New Zealand Winter season, of which this is the first – I hope you like it!

I built my outfit around this piece – a gorgeous rabbit print shirt. It has a classic cut and a fun print – who could resist these cute bunnies? It is currently on sale for $51.96 – a sweet bargain for a sweet design! If you’re not in to a print shirt, you could always change it out for a plain white number.

Wide leg pants are super comfortable while still being stylish – ideal for slouching around your favourite café!.  The satin detailing at the top creates a nicely defined waistline, and I love the generously draped material on the legs. These trousers are currently on sale for $66.81 – make sure you grab yours before they sell out!

I think wide leg trousers look best with a heeled shoe – there is so much material at the bottom of your leg that a heel will stop your feet from getting lost and (most importantly) stop your trousers from dragging on the ground. I prefer a chunky heel both because it provides more stability, and I think it’s more appropriate for a day time excursion.

I’ve been longing for this watch for a while, and I think that it’s the perfect way to finish any smart looking outfit. I’m sure there are some of you who are looking at this thinking “Whaaaaaaat? Meagan, you’re insane, that watch is really expensive!”, but while the initial outlay might be a little breathtaking, you need to remember that it’s a watch – something that you can wear almost everywhere, every day of your life.  Over two years, that works out to $0.66 per day – trust me, you’ll definitely get a lot of wear out of it.  Plus, it’s a Michael Kors Rose Gold Plated Chronograph Watch – that is enough reason in itself! [I’m not sure if you know this, but I’m a bit of a fashion enabler! I can justify any purchase!]

No justification required for this faux leather bowler bag – it’s adorable and it matches the rabbit print on the shirt. Rabbits are awesome.

Lastly, just because it’s Winter and bound to be a tad chilly, finish your outfit with a blazer. Perfect! Ready for brunch.

If you could only choose one, which piece from this outfit would you style in to your existing wardrobe?

x Meagan

Great selection Meagan – love the accessories too. That watch is to die for – too bad it’s a bit expensive for my budget at the mo though.

Same here Nicola! I’m saving up for it though, perhaps it could be a graduation gift to myself…
