My Skincare Routine | Dry + Sensitive Skin

Meagan Kerr's Skincare Routine for Dry and Sensitive Skin

It’s been a while since I last talked about my skincare routine, and lots of things have changed since then so it’s time for an update. My skin is often dry and sensitive (and even more so when the seasons are changing or I’m traveling a lot), so I’ve learned to stick with what works and not change products too often. It’s all cruelty free, and all of these are things I’ve been using for a while unless otherwise mentioned.

Skincare Routine for Dry and Sensitive Skin: Dermalogica Barrier Defense Booster in the morning and Antipodes Organic Divine Face Oil in the evening

After cleaning my skin I use Dermalogica Barrier Defense Booster in the morning and Antipodes Organic Divine Face Oil in the evening.

Okay so this is my skincare routine – some things are morning only and some are night only, but I think I explain most of that as we go along. I usually wash and exfoliate my face in the shower because I find it much easier and I’m less likely to splash water everywhere (although I think I did an okay job while filming this, so there’s hope for me yet).

Products I used/mentioned:
Revitalash Micellar Water Lash Wash
Cotton Pads – does anyone have any recommendations for reusable ones?
Dermalogica Precleanse Balm (evening)  – I’ve got a review of this product here
Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel
Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant (morning)
Dermalogica Rapid Reveal Peel (I switch out masks depending on what my skin needs)
Dermalogica UltraCalming Mist
Dermalogica Barrier Defense Booster (morning) or Antipodes Organic Divine Face Oil (evening)
Dermalogica Overnight Clearing Gel (for spots)
Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream
Revitalash Eyelash Conditioning Serum (evening)
Dermalogica Sound Sleep Cocoon Night Gel-Cream (evening)

Skincare Routine for Dry and Sensitive Skin: Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Masque, Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Recovery Masque, Lush Catastrophe Cosmetic Fresh Face Mask, Lush BB Seaweed Fresh Face Mask, Lush Rosy Cheeks Fresh Face Mask, Dermalogica Charcoal Rescue Masque, Lush Rudolph Jelly Face Mask

I have an embarrassingly large number of face masks. This isn’t even all of them.

My embarrassingly large face mask collection:
Lush Catastrophe Cosmetic Fresh Face Mask
Lush BB Seaweed Fresh Face Mask
Lush Rosy Cheeks Fresh Face Mask
Lush Rudolph Jelly Face Mask
Antipodes Halo Skin Brightening Facial Mud Mask
Dermalogica Charcoal Rescue Masque – I’ve got a review of this here
Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Masque
Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Recovery Masque

I don’t use all of these all the time and I swear it’s only coincidence that I have so many at once – some of these are ones I’ve just restocked on, some are ones I’ve just finished, and that Rudolph Jelly Face Mask is one I picked up purely out of curiosity. The Lush Fresh Face Masks are all ones I’ve gotten for free when I’ve traded in five of the black full size Lush pots at a store (after I’ve used whatever’s in them, obviously) – if you’re a Lush fan then this is definitely worth doing! I use a face mask 3-4 times a week if I have the time to spare, otherwise it’s a rushed 1 mask a week because I feel guilty about not paying enough attention to my skin and it’s starting to look a bit blah. Usually option B, let’s be honest.

Some of the products in my skincare routine are things I’ve started using after brands have sent them to me for editorial consideration, but all of these products are things that I genuinely use and recommend. Most of them are things I’ve been using for ages, I don’t like to change up what I use all that often as I prefer to stick with what works for me. That’s why I mostly just stick to a couple of brands I know I can trust – there are a lot of options out there but these ones work well for my skin.

Skincare Routine for Dry and Sensitive Skin: Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream for morning and night

I use the Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream as my moisturiser morning and night

I try to go through my skincare routine morning and night, every day, but sometimes things get in the way (I’m busy, I’m working, I’m tired, my mental health is shit – you name it. I try and make it work though). On top of this I try to get regular professional facials as well. I wish I could say I got them monthly but I can’t afford the money or the time so I usually go 2-3 times a year – I go to Bare and highly recommend them! They have Dermalogica trained staff, and are the ones who have recommended most of the products that I use.

So that’s my skincare routine. My skin is now usually pretty good (when I actually stick to my routine), so I don’t wear makeup  very often unless I’m required to for a work thing. After years of using makeup to cover my skin I love not feeling like I need to cover up.

Do you have a skincare routine?
Let me know if you stick to one brand or mix and match like me

OMG!!! You make me feel exhausted, just watching how many products you put on your face. I do not have any skin/face routine, just the good ole wet face cloth is all I use.
I have highly sensitive skin and can’t use anything that will not affect my skin within a few days later. Mind you, after a few didn’t work, I didn’t bother to try anymore.
If my face is dry, the only thing I use that doesn’t affect me is, Vaseline pretroleum jelly, Just a drop size is enough to do my face.
My skin is fine, I have been complimented on it, also looking younger than I am.
However, I would really like to know where I can purchase Dermalogica products to give them a go!!!
Thank you Meagan for another interesting vlog

Haha it seems like a lot (and like it takes ages) when I go through it all, but it honestly takes me less than five minutes and is so worth it because otherwise my skin is so dry and tight! If just water works for you then that’s all good – no use in fixing what isn’t broken right? If you’re wanting to give Dermalogica a try then I recommend going to one of their stockists to get face mapped (they will recommend products based on your skin, like a personalised prescription) so you can make sure you’re getting the right kind of products for you – they have a LOT to choose from! You can find your nearest store here.
