Simply Be Review + Haul

New Zealand plus size fashion blogger Meagan Kerr wears Oasis Curve Animal Jacquard Sweater and Ponte Pinafore from Simply Be

Simply Be has been around for a while now, and while you might have seen that they launched into Australia a few months ago, they are actually an international brand (thank you glorious internet shopping). I was talking to their team recently and they offered me the chance to pick out a few things so I could talk to you about fit. View Post

These items were kindly gifted to me by Simply Be but as always these are my honest opinions. Hips and Curves Plus Size Lingerie Review

New Zealand plus size fashion blogger Meagan Kerr wears Elomi Tia bra and Hips & Curves Super Soft and Comfy Halter Chemise

I’ve been eyeing up Hips & Curves for ages and ages, because they do really pretty plus size lingerie and I’m quite partial to a saucy bit of lingerie because it makes me feel like a right minx. They reached out to me to see if I wanted to try out a couple of pieces and of course I jumped at the chance because I knew y’all would be interested to hear about the fit and the quality. View Post

The Best Plus Size Black Friday Sales 2018

The Best Plus Size Black Friday and Cyber Weekend Sales 2018

It’s that wonderful time of year when there are bargains galore to be had – this is the best time of year for shopping online with Black Friday and Cyber Monday (or Cyber Weekend) sales happening all over the show. There is also Small Business Saturday, which is important because in the world of plus size fashion, there are many small businesses that are just one or two people making really great fashion forward clothes.

Some of the sales on over this weekend are pretty amazing, so here are some of the plus size clothing sales I’ve found. I’ll update these as I become aware of them (or as I’m allowed to talk about them), so make sure you keep checking back or let me know if there is one I’ve missed. View Post

Fat Shaming and Family

Meagan sits at Wagamama restaurant wearing a black dress with hot pink piping around the collar. In front of her is a table with various dishes of food

A lot of people find the holidays incredibly stressful for many reasons, and one of those is the time they spend with family. If loving your body or finding body peace/neutrality wasn’t hard enough, the added influx of body negativity from others makes it doubly hard. Comments about weight gain/loss, equating weight and health, comments about food eaten/not eaten, diet talk, negative comments about our bodies, fat shaming … it’s exhausting. I’ve got a few ways of dealing with this, not just for the holidays but all year round, so I thought I’d share them with you – let me know if you’ve got anything to add. View Post

Going to a concert with anxiety

Taylor Swift Reputation Tour, Auckland 2018

I used to go to rock concerts all the time. I’ve seen some amazing bands over the years – until my anxiety started to become more of a problem for me and then I had to make the hard decision to stop going. I’m not very good around crowds, I suffer from panic attacks and to be honest it’s a real struggle. I recently got invited along to the Taylor Swift Reputation Tour concert here in Auckland and as someone who has been a Taylor Swift fan for the last ten years or so, I knew there was no way I could say no. I had to find a way to go to the concert and not have my anxiety be an issue. Easier said than done. I thought that since anxiety in big crowds seems to be quite common I’d share a few of the things that helped me have a great time and minimise my anxiety. View Post
