Jeuneora Renew+ Collagen Review

Jeuneora Renew+ Marine Collagen Review

Does anyone else wonder if things they see online live up to the hype? Partly in the interests of research (because the people need to know, okay?) and partly because I wasn’t happy with the results of the collagen products I’d already tried out, I ordered myself a few things from Jeuneora.

The Hype

Countless photos on Instagram of women with beautiful long swishy hair and glowing skin had me wanting to try the Jeunora Renew+ for a long time. I heard amazing things from a few friends who had tried it, specifically that it worked wonders on nails, hair and skin, which sold me on getting it.  At the end of 2018/beginning of 2019 I was having problems with my nails peeling and breaking (which you can see in the photo below), so that was one of the areas that I was really hoping to see results.

I have to admit – I was a bit skeptical because everything I heard about Jeuneora was so good. I kind of thought it was too good to be true. Their products cost more than other marine collagen products I’d previously tried, so I wanted to know if it was worth it. Oh yes, your girl is back as your friendly fat guinea pig for stuff she’s found on the internet.

Before purchasing, I did a lot of research around the difference between different collagen sources, and the difference between the different Jeuneora products. After talking to the Jeuneora team to make sure it was the right one for me, I went for the Renew+ Marine Collagen Powder, which has the highest dosage of Collagen and Vitamin C.

I also talked to my healthcare professional to make sure it was okay to take with other medications I was on and to make sure I’d be okay with the marine collagen. I have an allergy to shrimp and prawn, and while none of the Jeuneora products contain any shellfish, the raw collagen is processed in factories that do process shellfish, so best to be safe. I’d already been taking another brand of marine collagen which would be the same situation in terms of processing, so we thought I should be fine with switching to Jeuneora. If you are taking medications or have allergies, make sure you talk to your doc before you start taking supplements!

The Test

There are a couple of different flavours (pineapple and berry), so I tried both so I could give a fully rounded review. I also tried the Naked Collagen, which is a slightly different product (it’s odourless and unflavoured, and can be added to hot drinks) – you can see more info on the range of Jeuneora products here.

Taking the Renew+ is super easy – mix one scoop with water in a shaker, shake it up and drink it. You’re meant to do this once a day, but let’s be honest, I’m not super consistent when it comes to taking supplements. But I took it most days for about six months. Yeah you read that right. I wanted to have a really good amount of time to try it out and form my opinions.

I thought it was kind of like drinking Raro or one of those other packet juices but you know, more beneficial for your body. Figuring out the right amount of water for my tastes took a bit of experimenting – I personally find both flavours of Renew+ quite sweet. Adding a little more water made it less sweet, which I definitely prefer, as did making it with really cold water. I tried both the pineapple and the berry initially, and the pineapple was definitely my favourite – I ended up going back to purchase more of that one.

As I mentioned, I also decided to try the Naked Collagen. I had heard good things and liked the idea of it being flavourless and okay to have in either hot or cold drinks. I had it with juice a couple of times to see how it tasted (just like juice, because the collagen was flavourless), but mostly I added it to my coffee because I was already drinking that. Again, it was flavourless.

The Results

I started seeing results in my skin within a few weeks, it was clearer and I had lots of people commenting on how much it was glowing. My nails took a little bit longer because I had to grow out some damage, but I did notice that I was having to file them short much more often than usual. Once they’d grown out, I was left with really strong nails and I’ve had no issues with peeling or flaking since then.

Lots of people report noticing hair growth, and I was no different – my hair became noticeably thicker and grew more than six inches in six months. I took pictures when I first started taking the Jeuneora Renew+ and kind of forgot to take them as I went along, but I did remember to grab some before I headed to the hairdresser to cut off half my hair… I tried to get them as similar as possible so you could see the difference, but I’m not sure that I managed to get them exactly the same.

To me, the most noticeable difference is how much thicker it is – especially around the crown. I changed the way I care for my hair last year as well (more about that another time), and as a result my hair is much wavier, but I think you can see a difference.

The Verdict

I really loved the results that I had with both the Jeuneora Renew+ and the Naked Collagen. My hair, skin and nails showed a big improvement, and I think the results were even better than I’d hoped. They definitely lived up to the hype, and I found them far more effective than other products I’d tried previously – definitely worth paying that bit extra. My favourite is definitely the pineapple Renew+, which I prefer to drink it cold. Would I recommend it? Yeah I would!

Have you tried Jeuneora’s collagen products?
I’d love to know what you thought of them!
