New Hair + New Finds

In a somewhat dramatic move, I decided to cut off half of my hair the other day. Don’t get me wrong, I really loved my long hair but the ends were in a bit of a state and it was so heavy it was giving me headaches, so it was time for a change. I agonised over cutting it for months, but I’m really glad I finally did it. I’m so stoked with my new hair style and can’t wait for those curls to have their moment now they’re not being weighed down!

I thought I’d share a couple of new finds with you today. I’ve been trying to keep my eye out for things that some of you have mentioned you’re looking for or want to see styled, so this outfit is ticking a few boxes.

Tunics and longer style tops are one of the things I get asked about quite often. I was drawn to this one because of the colour (and it does come in other colour options but I wanted to grab one that was a bit different to the colours I usually go for). It’s a really nice fit through the body and arms, and it’s long enough to fit comfortably over my stomach and my bum. The fabric is stretchy, so it’s comfy to wear, and despite being button up (usually a bit of a nemesis for me as a gal with a big bust) it’s a great fit across the chest. I think this probably ticks a few boxes for pregnant and breastfeeding people as well. Not only will the style work for a range of body shapes, it’s one of those styles that will be fairly comfy to wear as your body changes. The button up detail also makes it easy access for breastfeeding!

I’ve been on the hunt for a decent pair of dark black jeans for ages now, with not a lot of success. They’ve either been way too long on me, not high rise enough, not dark enough, won’t fit over my bum … don’t get me started about the pair that had “knee rips” that were halfway down my shins! So needless to say, by the time I tried on this pair, I wasn’t all that hopeful. But I found a pair of pull on jeans that looked like they fit the bill (no weird rips, super dark black, and from a store that I find usually has a pretty consistent fit).

I’m really happy with these – while they do have fake pockets at the front (which I’m not a fan of), they’re a great fit. They have a decent amount of stretch which makes them comfortable to wear, but they stay a firm fit and don’t stretch out after a few wears – I know that’s a problem people have had with other brands!

I’d really love to know where to buy a decent padded jacket. Something casual and warm. Can find decent coats or light jackets but I need casual but outdoor warmth for work
