For a long time I thought that I had to pick between fashion and comfort. I chose fashion for a long time and squeezed my feet into shoes that were beautiful but bloody uncomfortable (like that cherry red pair of high heeled Mary Janes I had when I was 18 – swoon!). I’m talking about gorgeous high heels, shoes that pinched my toes and squished my feet, shoes that were beautiful but oh man they hurt after wearing them for more than a couple of hours. You know the kind.
When I broke my ankle (for the 3rd time) about ten years ago I decided it was time to ditch the heels and wear flats. And then after I dislocated my knee a couple of years ago, I ended up in sneakers – I’m sure you’ve seen them in more than one of my outfit posts. Yes sports shoes are comfortable, and some can look cool, but they don’t really cut the mustard when it comes to work, going out and any occasion when you need to be a bit dressy. Is it even possible that there are shoes that are stylish and comfortable?
I’m pleased to let you know that you don’t have to choose between fashion and comfort – you can have your cake and eat it too. Between trying on all of the styles I could get my hands on, one of the super cool things I was shown when I went in store was the Your Feet Your Fit system. With the help of handy inserts you can tailor the fit of your shoe from narrow to extra wide, which makes finding that perfect fit even easier without having to wear naff looking nana shoes. They come with two inserts – the grey ones are the standard fit, the mint ones are if you need a narrower fit and if you need a wider fit then you can just wear them without the inserts!
I was so impressed to find that there was such a good range of shoes that were comfortable and looked good. I actually found it really hard to choose what pair of shoes I wanted to take home, because the Orion and the Orchid are both shoes that I’d wear a lot. It’s like they made all the flats with me in mind!

Have to say that Canny2 would be my pick and either black or red. I’m going to see my daughter in Melbourne in July-she is with a ballet company. So we will be busy and a lot of walking. I need some shoes that are comfy and that don’t look like running shoes – but look smart and practical too. I don’t want them to think the ballerinas mama is a frump. And with a neurological disease plus weight issues on my side I’m already fighting a looming battle !! Thanks Megan

Love Ziera! I got a pair of their Military styled Boots a couple years back and have worn them nearly everyday since! I worked in Retail and being on your feet all day my cheap shoes would have my feet aching throughout the day, specially when I finally got home. But Ziera DEFINITELY put fashion and comfort together!!! I loved the Ocean style on you and would love to please have a pair of myself! Black Croc all the way. Goes with everything. 👍

Ocean please – I always go for comfort, but that seems to mean that I end up with “Nana shoes” (as my sister constantly tells me), so I would love to balance both comfort and style! Having great shoes always pulls an outfit together nicely and I obviously need all the help I can get in the style department 🙂 These ones will see me through many winters, and being a classic style they will go with everything

Orion brogues! I’ve had lots of surgery on my foot and now the only shoes I find comfortable are the ones I’ve got from Ziera. So grateful for that shop!
I would absolutely love to wear Orchid, they are such comfortable looking flats. I know all Ziera shoes are made for comfort but these ones are just my kinda style.

I was just reading a an article about which boots the celebs are wearing and how to style them and then I saw your blog. The Othello boot looks exactly like the boot they were raving about. I love all Ziera’s shoes and boots though.
Ocean for sure… I’m terrible with lace ups as I can’t be bothered with the admin of putting them in and taking them off again, and so I invariably end up wearing some sneaker type slip ons. I need some slip ons that also look a bit dressy. Perfect for dress and stockings season 🙂

I’ve got loads of chiropodists / podiatrists in my family, so I’ve always worn flats. I love a chunky boot, and a ballet pump with a little something funky about it… But my favourite thing about your outfit is that gorgeous dress! You look fab.

Sadly I had a pair of red shoes that became my going out to dinner shoes after one wear – his way I could slip them off under the table as way too tight. After one more wear I have them to a friend.

The Frida short boots are soooo adorable! So are the wine coloured ocean flats. So on trend for this season! I would love to win some Ziera shoes, because any shoe company who can combine comfort and fashion get my vote! Also, Ziera are one of the few places in town that make shoes big enough for my feet.
