Summer is here (well, kind of – I’m just waiting for the weather to catch up!) and it’s time to make the most of those long sunny days. Frolicking at the beach with your friends, exploring nature with your family, enjoying some alone time in a place that brings you peace…
I love to take photos of those fun times – they lift me up when I’m feeling down, they warm me in winter and they help me to remember all those amazing times I’ve had. For the last couple of years I’ve really enjoyed using my Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 camera to capture those moments because it means I can have those photos to hang in my house so I can see them often (I have some hanging in my hallway and some in my office) rather than having pictures filed away in my phone or on my computer.

Hmm, my favourite thing about summer is being able to lay in bed like a starfish with the sun shining through the window making me warm, feeling a fan blow over me and hear all of nature outside. It’s something that hardly ever happens in winter and it’s days like that that make me feel peaceful and happy.
My absolute favorite thing about summer would be the outdoor concerts! I enjoy being outside in the warm sun, listening to your favorite artist live 🙂
Favourite thing about summer is summer hair! A) it drys faster than winter b) beachy waves from the sea salt. As a girl with long, thick hair this makes a world of difference!

my favourite thing is that when its over we are in autumn, which is my favourite of all time.
My favourite thing about summer is eating fish and chips by the beach, making cold treats such as home-made banana nut icecream and smoothies, summer desserts and being able to dry my clothes out in the sun! I love the smell of sun dried clothing.

I love the long days that let me get washing dry easier! A small boring thing, but essential with small apartment living!

100% would have to be Christmas time! I love giving gifts and and then hanging out with the family on a nice hot Christmas day. I don’t think I could deal with a white Christmas!

Daylight savings, meaning more time to enjoy the warm summer evenings after work. And the beautiful Pohutukawa trees, it’s my favourite flower.

I have to say, no school !
Come this time of the year I am so glad for school to be over. No rushing in the mornings (or being late more like), no filling the lunchboxes, no stress. We set our own timetable, cook at home, go on picnics and day trips, stay up late, BBQ, sleep in, and generally do as we please. All while it’s lovely and warm I might add !

Favorite thing about summer! Feeling the sun and actually being warm lol. We live in the South Island, in Otago, so it’s pretty cold in winter. It gets to be a bit depressing after months of freezing, so seeing the sun makes life a whole lot nicer😀🌞

My favourite thing about summer is the positivity that warm weather brings. I’m always so miserable in winter, but when summer arrives it’s like everything’s sprinkled in glitter :).
My favourite thing is just the ability to do more if you know what I mean. With it being light until later and having time off work and the sunny weather there are just so many more things you can do than in winter when its freezing/

Love your blog, I’m plus size and find your blog inspirational. Love the idea of taking pics and displaying them in the hallway. We take soooo many photos these days with digital devices, but they are all stuck in computers or the Internet. This is so cool in that it brings back instant bad pics that can’t be deleted and retaken.

I feel like the “bad” pictures are the ones that bring back the best memories – when I’ve caught someone belly laughing with their mouth wide open and their head back, or just in a happy moment when they’ve not been thinking about how to stand to look slim or something silly – those true free moments!

But this summer I’m especially excited because I’m getting married (4 weeks to go!!) and going on honeymoon to vanuatu!! I like being bare foot in my garden, growing vegies & pretty flowers. I find it has a real calming effect on me & my mental health. I also like long nights having drinks with family & friends. Random adventures that you can get lost in, where the day seems endless & you lose track of time 🙂
