Over the years, I’ve spent a lot of time working on my skin health, and there’s a few things that have made a noticeable difference for me.  They’re not specific to my skin type (because my skin might have different requirements to yours) or in any way revolutionary. Mostly, they’re things that I didn’t realise would make such a difference to my skin until I started doing them regularly. We don’t gatekeep around here, so I wanted to share them in case they help you too.

Sometimes people assume I’ve always had “good” skin, but I haven’t. View Post

Review: Skintopia Commercial Bay

Skintopia Commercial Bay Exterior

I was really excited when I heard that Skintopia was opening up in Auckland, because I’ve heard a lot of great feedback about their Wellington location. Like other Dermalogica skin centres, I know they’re focused on getting great results for your skin rather than just pampering. This is exactly what my skin needs! I’ve been a Dermalogica skincare user for many years now, and started getting regular professional treatments to help keep on top of my skin health. People often ask me about the best place to get a facial in Auckland city, so when the Skintopia team invited me in to experience a treatment, I jumped at the chance to review them. View Post

This experience was kindly gifted by Skintopia but as always these are my honest opinions.

Face masks and skincare

New Zealand plus size fashion blogger Meagan Kerr wears rainbow striped face mask from Toast Clothing Studio

2020 has brought us a new normal – wearing face masks. As of this week, wearing a face covering is advised where I live, and it’s mandatory on public and passenger transport. I’ve been wearing a mask for the last few weeks, every time I leave my house, and one thing I’ve noticed is how much it affects my skin! There’s been breakouts (aka maskne), dryness, irritation … so I asked Caroline Parker, Head of Education for Dermalogica NZ about face masks and skincare, and what we can do to take care of our skin at the moment. 5 things to help your skin stay hydrated in winter

New Zealand plus size fashion blogger Meagan Kerr talks about how to help keep your skin hydrated in winter.

By now I think we all know that the harsh winter weather isn’t the kindest to our skin. It can strip your skin’s natural protective barrier leaving it irritated and dehydrated. For me, that means itchy dry skin – combined with breakouts that is a pain to have to manage! Here’s a few things I’ve been doing over winter to help my skin stay hydrated. View Post

Jeuneora Renew+ Collagen Review

Jeuneora Renew+ Marine Collagen Review

Does anyone else wonder if things they see online live up to the hype? Partly in the interests of research (because the people need to know, okay?) and partly because I wasn’t happy with the results of the collagen products I’d already tried out, I ordered myself a few things from Jeuneora.
