What’s your 2021 Word of the Year?

NYE 2020: New Zealand plus size blogger Meagan Kerr wears Isla-Maree Florence Dress in Jungle size XL 24

Happy New Year, my friends! It’s been a while, but I’m back and feeling motivated to write again. I’ve seen some people sharing their “word of the year” for 2021. The idea is that instead of writing New Year’s resolutions, you pick a word to guide you for the year. It can be something you want more of in your life or something you’d like to improve at. Perhaps something you’d like to focus on or something to remind you of a goal.

I’m not really a resolution-y person. However, I kind of like the idea of having a focus to come back to, something that guides you. It’s short, snappy and I can easily stick it on a post-it note I see every day. View Post

New Years Resolutions for fashion

It’s the start of a new year and everyone is talking New Year’s resolutions. Screw the ones that involve crash diets though, my resolutions are more of the fashion focused kind. If your wardrobe needs a shake up, you want to feel more confident in your clothes or you’re searching for your style, here are a few fashion resolutions to help you get started. View Post

New Year’s Resolutions 2016

2016 New Years Resolutions

January 1st. The day when people wake up and swear they’re never drinking again, make New Year’s resolutions to drink more green smoothies and eat less sugar, or vow that they’re going to lose weight and “be healthy”, right? Nope I’m not going to pay for a gym membership I’ll only use for a month, only eat kale and quinoa, run until I spew or try yet another ridiculous diet in an attempt to starve my body and be slim. Fuck that. My goals for 2016 are all about making more time for myself and living a fabulous life. View Post

2014 New Year’s Resolutions

Okay lovelies, let’s talk new year’s resolutions. For years mine were the same – lose weight, get out of debt, and quit smoking. Sound familiar? Well, I am pretty happy with my body and have realised that my weight does not define me, I don’t have any debt other than my student loan, and I quit smoking on the 1st of January 2011 (so that will be three years this new year’s day!), so it’s time to move on and make some new resolutions for my future.

30 x 30 (Some resolutions for the New Year)

I’ve recently been made aware that 30 isn’t that far away for me – 18 months, in fact.  In light of this, and the impending new year, I thought that this is a great time to sit down and think about what I’d like from my future. Time for some goal setting.

I made a New Years Resolution two years ago to quit smoking, and am proud to say that as of 1st January 2013, I will have been smokefree for TWO WHOLE YEARS! That’s a pretty big deal, and not really something I thought I could achieve. So, now that I know that I have fierce determination and am extremely stubborn, it’s time to set myself some more goals.

I was inspired by Hannah at Dressed In Pixie Dust to create my own version of her 25 by 25 list (obviously doing a 30 by 30 because I have a couple of years on her …). I thought I’d share a few of them with you, both to encourage you to try something similar and because writing this down and sharing it makes me feel accountable! View Post
