By now I’m fairly certain that you’re well aware of how much I love Australian brand 17 Sundays. I know I’m not the only Kiwi babe who does, a lot of you are rocking their gorgeous clothes as well. That’s why I was so stoked to hear that the lookbook for Sticks & Stones, their autumn and winter collection for 2016, was shot right here in New Zealand!
Shot by one of my favourite photographers Lily Cummings, and featuring New Zealand plus size model Georgia Pratt, this is a lookbook that really focuses on the amazing textures in the latest collection from 17 Sundays. There are a lot of great textures and knits in this season’s offerings, and what better place to show those than right here in Auckland? At the raw and wild Piha beach, to be exact.
As someone whose wardrobe is largely black, the texture of my clothes is really important to me – both because I want things to feel nice when I am wearing them and because using different textures and fabrics is a great way to make sure your outfit isn’t flat. There are snuggly knits, beautiful sheer pieces, super soft denim, quilted pieces … oh my gosh guys, I actually can’t wait to wear this stuff! Don’t be fooled though – this collection isn’t all black. Far from it – 17 Sundays has really embraced autumn colours with beautiful burnt oranges, browns, khaki and of course their beloved denims.
Everything has become a bit more muted in colour for autumn but definitely not in style – 17 Sundays never compromises when it comes to the beautiful fit of their garments; some hug your body, some will skim your curves and some have that loose oversized fit that is perfect for snuggling in to (you know I’m talking about delicious cardigans here!)
I was lucky enough to be able to look through some of the samples for this season, and you can trust me when I say that I picked up every garment, felt the fabric and looked at the fit. This is a collection that 17 Sundays should be really proud of, because it’s all bloody amazing. Oh wow!
I love love love the burnt orange cardi. The drape neck jacket is gorgeous and that green is really nice. The jersey dress is gorgeous to and actually a really reasonable price.
And how gorgeous is the model!
Isn’t the burnt orange cardi amazing? I have it and am super stoked that it’s cool enough to finally wear it today! I couldn’t agree more about the model – so stoked that they chose to use a Kiwi model and shoot here as well
