With the current COVID-19 situation, you might have noticed that I haven’t really been posting much. That’s mostly because my own work has been so incredibly busy that I’ve barely had time to catch my breath. It’s also partly because I haven’t known what to say or how I’m feeling – more on that later.

Here in New Zealand, we have been in level four lockdown for about five weeks now. Restrictions are easing up a little bit this week as we move to level 3ome people will be able go back to work, but the reality is that we are still going to be spending a whole lot of time at home. Maybe dressing up to go to the supermarket, because that’s an exciting outing for a lot of us these days!

With all of those things in mind, I wanted to share a few things from Ruby & Rain – one of my favourite Kiwi businesses – with you that are great for wearing round home. Sharing the love with a small New Zealand owned plus size clothing brand, clothes that are both designed and made here in Aotearoa.

When I’m not working, most of my time has been spent trying to read books. I’m trying to not be on my phone all the time, but I have to admit that there has been a lot of screen time. Netflix and Disney+ have had some great content that’s helped to keep me distracted on the days where my brain has just needed to wind down.

Most days I’ve tried to go for comfy options. The Lilac pants are getting a lot of wear at the moment! They’re comfy like pyjamas or trackpants but a little dressier so I kind of feel like I have my shit together. Spoiler alert: I most certainly do not.

I know that some people aren’t in the position to spend money at the moment, and I completely understand that. However, others need new clothes as we head into colder weather, and some of us have wardrobes that aren’t suitable for the amount of time we’re now spending at home. So for those people who are looking to pick up a few new pieces, I encourage you to shop local as much as you can. Support our local brands where possible. I’ll have a post going up soon that will have more info about local plus size businesses for you – stay tuned.

The team at Ruby & Rain have given me an affiliate discount code to share with you as well! If you use MEAGANKERR at the checkout, you’ll get 10% off all full price items. I hope you found this try on video useful. If there is a particular style you’d like me to try on, let me know!

Have you tried any of Ruby & Rain’s pieces yet?
Let me know which of the ones I tried on is your favourite!

Hi Meagan, that cardi looks lovely on you. It looks a little bright in the picture than that of the video. Thanks for your blogs, I really look forward to seeing what you have brought.

Thanks Fiona! Much easier to show colours outside in natural light rather than in my house 😀
