This summer has been hot as heck and that means sweaty thighs and chafing, right? It doesn’t have to! I’ve talked about the various ways to battle chafing or chub rub before, and I’ve done a lot of testing of different methods. My usual go to these days is Body Glide, but there are some days I prefer to wear anti chafing shorts. As you already know, I’m a big fan of Snag Tights, so it will be no surprise that when they released chub rub shorts I was super keen to give them a go. A lot of you were asking about them as well, so when the Snag Tights team said they’d send me some to try out, I thought a blog review was in order.

Just like their tights, the Snag Tights Chub Rub Shorts are really soft and really comfortable. I got the size F, which is the same size I wear in the stockings. I’m happy to report that they don’t roll or ride up in the thigh, and they don’t slip down either. They do sit quite long in the leg, which is great if you happen to wear midi or maxi length skirts like I do. If you’re wearing something with a shorter hemline, you can pull the legs of the chub rub shorts up a bit higher. I’ve done this a couple of times and it’s still been comfy.

The shorts come in a range of colours – I’ve got Raspberry Pie, Black, Builders Tea (great for under white or light clothing if you have fair skin) and Beach Bum. The black are definitely my most worn pair because my wardrobe is pretty dark, but I’ve been really enjoying the Raspberry Pie and Beach Bum if I’m wanting them to show through sheer clothing.

The chub rub shorts are super soft and delicate, just like their stockings. If you don’t want to fuck around with hand washing (honestly, who does?) then I’d recommend putting them in a delicates bag to protect them before chucking them in the washing machine. The shorts are hemmed with a stretchy thread, I had issues with that coming undone on a couple of pairs despite great care with washing them and putting them on. I was concerned that maybe they had a thigh limit and my glorious gams were just too much for them to handle! The Snag Tights team assured me that was not the case, and they organised for replacements for those pairs which was great. I’ll happily report that I haven’t had problems with my other pairs.

Some people have a preference for either anti-chafing balm or chub rub shorts, but I like to use both, at different times. I use the anti-chafing balm when I’m going swimming or if it’s not particularly hot. Chub rub shorts have a few benefits other than preventing chafing, including wicking away moisture. This is an absolute blessing when it’s super hot and your thighs are literally dripping in sweat! Needless to say, they have been a wardrobe staple this summer.
