Fat Girls Shouldn't Wear Stripes: Cassie Ace

In my journey to body positivity, I’ve been inspired by many people – Tess Munster, Honor Curves and Natalie Drue to name a few. But it was someone closer to home that started me on my self love journey.

My gorgeous friend and model Cassie Ace started talking to me about Health at Every Size, diet myths and embracing your body regardless of size. She let me borrow her copy of Dr. Linda Bacon’s Health at Every Size: The Surprising Truth About Your Weight, which made me seriously examine a lifetime spent dieting, hating myself and having an unhealthy relationship with food.

Having someone in my life who is so inspiring, who celebrates her body and makes bold fashion choices (seriously, when I was consulting people about the things they’d heard that fat girls shouldn’t wear, Cassie took a look at the list and said that was basically her whole wardrobe!), and who lifts me up when I am down is something I don’t take for granted.  I couldn’t have made my blog what it is without her, and I feel so blessed to call her a friend!
