Do Your Thing

And so she decided to start living the life that she'd imagined

I see comments on social media and in my inbox every day where women of all ages, sizes and backgrounds are saying things like “I wish I had her confidence” and “I wish I could do that”. So many people are dealing with body issues and think they can’t live their life to fullest until they’re thinner, fitter, more successful… but the reality is that you might be letting these things hold you back from living life now.

Do you question your worth, your abilities, or your strengths? Do you shy away from opportunities, avoid wearing things you want to wear because you think you can’t, hide from the mirror or even shy away from being in photographs with your friends and family? It’s okay, you’re not alone. Just a few years ago, I refused to be in a family photo because I was so unhappy within myself and didn’t want that captured on film, I dreaded going swimming and only wore things that hid my body (not  the things I wanted to wear). Now, things have changed.

AMP-Meagan-Kerr

Imagine what your life could be like if you took a chance on yourself and put yourself first. You can have that confidence, do the things you always wished you were brave enough to do, and I want to help you. I truly believe that we all need to show our selves love, respect and care. Empowering others is a passion of mine, and I would like to run workshops around New Zealand to help women become more body confident so that they can take that next step towards accepting themselves for who they are, embracing their bodies for how they look, and start living their best life. I’ve already run two workshops in Auckland in partnership with my friend Tarryne from Change One Woman, and now I would like to take body confidence workshops around the country.

To be able to do this, to help women who want to be more body confident and start living a life of awesomeness, I need your help. I’ve applied for a scholarship to go towards the travel, accommodation and admin costs that come with bringing these workshops around the country. This will help keep the costs of attending the workshops to a minimum, meaning the more places I will be able to visit and the more affordable it will be for you! I can’t wait to meet you and share my journey with you.

What's-My-Thing-2015

If you’d like me to visit your town, leave me a comment to let me know where in New Zealand you’re from. That way, if I am chosen to receive the scholarship, I will be able to start making travel plans! But first, I need you to head over to the AMP People’s Choice Facebook app and vote for me by hitting the big blue VOTE FOR ME! button.

UPDATE: Unfortunately I didn’t get a scholarship but I am going to be running my workshops anyway. Sign up to my newsletter to find out more when I release more info.

Thanks for your support, I can’t wait to meet you

xo Meagan

I think this is amazing! You should be proud that you have become a role model to a lot of people. You definitely got my vote! I think every woman at some point in their lives have questioned our worth and abilities. I sure do and I’ve experienced such a low self-esteem growing up but it can definitely be overcome. Good luck and I know you will be great!

I love that women support in women is becoming more and more common. Being unhappy in your own skin can be debilitating and affect other parts of your life. Being confident on one area of your life can give you confidence to tackle other parts of your life or skill that you want to improve. Thank you for being such a positive role model. xx
