I was running errands the other day when I bumped in to my ex (who proceeded to try and make small talk with me. Eek! No one really wants to chat with someone who treated them badly, even if it was ten years ago).
Fortunately I was having one of those days when I was looking pretty damn hot, which left me feeling pretty confident so the encounter didn’t rattle me nearly as much as it would have a few years ago. What changed? Well aside from my whole attitude towards myself, I was snappily dressed in a little black dress (and I’d just had my hair done – bonus!)
You may remember that when we did LBD for Aussie Curves, I didn’t actually have a little black dress. Fortunately, I recently received this fit and flare number from the lovely team at 17 Sundays. The second I put it on, I knew we’d be firm friends – the material is the perfect weight, it fits my body perfectly, and like all good LBD’s it makes me feel spectacular!
Now while I don’t care what my ex thinks of me, and I have absolutely no interest in having him think I look hot, when I look great I exude much more confidence and that helps me to:
a) not awkwardly blush because I’m not nervous!
b) not stutter when trying to make conversation
c) remember all of the awesome things about myself
So thanks trusty LBD! You leave me ready to take on the world! And that’s what we want from our clothes, right? To make us feel super amazing!

Thanks Bell! No, my colour was done by Hester at Ministry of Hair – you can see the transformation from dark hair to copper here, and there are lots of pictures of me with my darker hair before that post if you look back through my outfit photos. My natural colour is kind of a dark blonde.
