WIWT: Date Night

My boyfriend has worked for pretty much the last month without any days off, so we both took some time off yesterday to go on an epic 7 hour date that involved lots of eating, mini golf, a romantic stroll and a visit to the cinema. This is what I wore (more about the rest of the date later…)

WIWT_DateNight_03My new skater skirt arrived by courier just before we were due to go out – perfect timing! I opted for the longer length skirt, as a number of people had told me that the regular length was quite short.  Since placing my order, I actually had a red skater skirt in the shorter length arrive (that I’d ordered prior to hearing that some people had issues with the length), and I thought it looked okay when worn on the hips.  This longer length version is perfect for wearing high waisted, so now I’m getting together a pretty decent collection of jersey skirts (super comfortable!) that I can wear all year round, with or without tights underneath.

WIWT_DateNight_01My top is a really nice swing style top in a geometric print that I bought when I was out of town for an event and found that I had left half of my wardrobe behind.  More of an emergency purchase than something I’d usually choose, but I really like it and think that I might venture in to prints/patterns a bit more over summer.

WIWT_DateNight_05I kept my makeup pretty neutral, are we surprised? Not at all…

The date was amazing! I had heaps of fun. I put a couple of picture up on my Favourite Things post this week, but the date involved mini golf, Japanese for dinner, a stroll through the city, sorbet for dessert, cocktails and then a visit to the cinema. So much fun! x

Those Asos jersey skater skirts are the best. I wish they’d do a huge selection of colours. Love this outfit. Also, date nights are the best!
