My Active Body

When I look at the models in activewear ads, I never see bodies like mine. The fat, lumpy bodies with rolls and big thighs and tummies. My body is the kind of body that’s shown as a “before picture”, not as one that is active. Sometimes people with bodies like mine are photographed and made fun of, as I shared on my Facebook page recently, and quite a few people told me that things like this make them feel uncomfortable going to the gym or exercising in public. I don’t give a shit if you’re fat or thin, have wobbly bits or washboard abs, I think that everyone should have the right to exercise if they want to. View Post

Nike has launched a plus size range

One of the things people ask me about most often is activewear, so I’m forever on the lookout for new activewear options to share with you. Naturally, I was very excited to find out that Nike has expanded their range to include more plus sizes. I have been a fan of Nike shoes for a long time (I currently have two pairs on the go) and have straight size friends that swear by the quality of their Nike training gear, so to finally be able to get that quality gear in plus sizes is pretty exciting. Plus size activewear picks

There seems to be a lot of assumption that plus size women aren’t or don’t want to be active. At least, that’s what you’d think given that finding really great plus size activewear has in the past been very difficult. That’s not the case anymore, there are some brands doing great things and I wanted to share a few of my fave picks of what is around at the moment. View Post

Activewear

For me, it’s super important to have nice activewear. It helps me to get into the exercising mindset, I feel prepared and motivated. After all, if you have to put on something you don’t like or you’re not comfortable in, then how enthusiastic will you be about working out? View Post

Casual weekend style

This post was brought to you by Farmers

This is Meagan Kerr x Farmers plus size activewear

My work style and my weekend style are very different – when I’m working I want a polished look, but in the weekend I’m all about being comfortable and casual. Jeans and a tee, activewear that can be worn for yoga (or to walk up to my favourite café for brunch), or tunics that I can wear with leggings. Outfits that let me do what needs to be done around the house, spend time with my family and friends, and let me relax while still looking good. View Post
