The Iconic Review and Try On Haul

The Iconic plus size clothing haul and review // 17 Sundays Cross Back Dress

I really love a store where I can go in and get things from lots of my favourite brands (and find new ones), because it saves time, shipping and basically makes life super easy for me. One place you can do that is The Iconic, you’re probably already familiar with it because I do link to them regularly and I’ve got an affiliate banner for them in my sidebar a lot of the time, but I’ve never actually bought from them (only directly from the brands they stock). In the interest of blog research (and because I saw they were having a sale) I decided to try them out so I could report back on what their service was like, and check out some of the brands that I’ve never tried before. Apparently they have over 700 brands, which is just … woah. View Post

My workwear picks

Plus size workwear

I get so many people asking me where to find plus size workwear that I thought I’d scout out some ideas for you. As you know, I work from home and my days of dressing for the office are over, but I do really enjoy helping other people finding clothes they feel confident and awesome in, so let’s do this.

There are a lot of different dress codes out there when it comes to office outfits – some people have to have their shoulders covered; some must wear a suit; some can be as out there as they like. Then there’s the combination of what you want to wear – a blouse and tailored trousers, a skirt with a top, a blazer, a matching suit, a dress, with stockings or without? View Post

Back to basics

Plus size clothing basics - River Island Plus white scoop neck tee from River Island, Warpaint Joggers from 17 Sundays; Kate Madison Khaki Jacket from The Warehouse

As you might have noticed, I haven’t been sharing very many outfit photos lately. I mentioned that I’d lost my mojo and have been struggling with feeling confident in front of the camera since I had my hair cut, and while I’ve been recovering from surgery, and this is the first outfit post I’m posting on my blog in more than a month.  I might have been quiet lately, but I’m back with a fresh head of colour and I’m going back to basics. Time to find my mojo again. View Post

New Zealand Plus Size Fashion

Yesterday an article on Stuff mentioned that size 18 is the top seller at New Zealand department store Farmers. They also mentioned that many New Zealand retailers only go to a size 14-16 – something that many of you wish wasn’t the case. One of the things so many people say to me about New Zealand plus size fashion is that they would love to have the options available in straight size – there are so many different designs, prints and colours that are difficult to find in bigger sizes – especially if you want to shop in store and be able to try things on! Can I wear black to a wedding?

New Zealand plus size blogger Meagan Kerr wears 17 Sundays Arrow Print Dress

Wedding season is coming up and with it comes a question I get asked every year – “can I wear black to a wedding?”. Tradition states that wearing black to a wedding is a no no, apparently because it’s the colour of mourning and means that you don’t approve of the marriage. Sounds a bit passive-aggressive if you ask me! View Post
