In New Zealand, it’s Winter. Cold, windy, rainy Winter. No surprise that I am dreaming of Spring already, is it? To help cheer myself up on this chilly day, I’m searching online for sweet Spring outfits…
Even though I’m usually a black on black on black gal, I can’t help but reach for light airy colours at the beginning of Spring – it’s a great way to cheer yourself up if the Winter has been particularly dark and gloomy.
These jeans were actually what made me start thinking about Spring outfits – how gorgeous is that greyed lilac colour? I am slowly incorporating more colour into my wardrobe and I think this might be my new favourite…
A selection of camisoles/vests/singlets are a must in every wardrobe. I wear mine under tops that are a little transparent and also to keep me warm (because I get cold easily, I usually wear at least 2-3 layers – even in Summer!). 17 Sundays have a great selection of plus size basics, so be sure to check them out.
One of my favourite parts of Spring is when all the flower buds appear, so I had to include something floral in this outfit!
Spring can be a little chilly, so I recommend having a jacket on hand. I like the masculine cut of a military jacket paired with such a super feminine outfit, it provides great balance and looks super snappy!
I don’t actually wear heels any more because I have broken my right ankle so many times that if I break it again I’m pretty much screwed. However, that doesn’t mean I can’t dream – and I’m dreaming of these nude suedette heels from Boohoo.com. There is something I just love about heels worn with jeans!
Slouchy bags are my favourite, and the Chelsea by Saben is one I’ve featured before (in sea green). The reason I keep coming back to this style is because it’s roomy, it’s casual yet classy, and it feels oh so nice!

Funny, I decided I needed to wear heels today because I couldn’t remember the last time I wore some. I’m wearing a pair of bright red jeans so I’m feeling cute. Wish I’d brought a jacket though. It is winter afterall.
I’m never a black on black girl, especially in winter. Colour makes me happy and perks up a gloomy day. Oh wow, that sounded really Pollyanna of me…
It is definitely jacket weather! I’m definitely incorporating more colour into my wardrobe this Winter – my nails are currently a super bright cheery yellow!
