I’m pretty picky when it comes to flowers – I know what I like (peonies, hydrangeas, vintage roses and amaryllis, for the record) and what I don’t (carnations, most chrysanthemums and most lilies). The same goes for florals in fashion – I’m either all in or all out and I think I might have … maybe four? floral pieces in my wardrobe (two of them are made from the same fabric). Black is one of the most common colours to crop up in my wardrobe, yet I realised recently that I hardly ever wear head to toe black anymore. It used to be an everyday thing, but I think I stopped rocking it all the time because of my Fat Girls Shouldn’t Wear Stripes project. That kind of left me feeling like I was somehow obliged to wear a lot of colour, in an attempt to “disprove” all of the things that people say about what fat women should or should not wear.
