Country girl

Country girl // New Zealand plus size fashion blogger Meagan Kerr in western wear inspired outfit

I am a city girl now, but when I was a kid we moved to the country. We had a small farm with cows, sheep, pigs, chickens and bees; I went to a very very small school (there were less than 30 people in my whole school); there were no footpaths anywhere near our place, or public transport. Actually, in the nearest town, public transport didn’t exist either. Welcome to the back of beyond. View Post

Plus size thrifting tips

Plus size thrifting tips // Meagan Kerr wears Domino Dollhouse Star Dress

Thrifting or second hand shopping as a plus size person can be difficult. I’ve been to stores that are rumoured to have a great plus size range only to find that it only goes up to a size 18, I’ve found many many dud outfits (think of the nana fat girl clothes from the 90’s) and I’ve had some real misses buying from online sellers. I do really like the idea of being able to onsell my clothes and be able to buy pre-loved clothing from others, in what seems to be such a throwaway culture, so I have persisted and over the years I have picked up a few thrifting tips that I thought I’d share with you. Being confident

New Zealand style blogger Meagan Kerr wears plus size lingerie from Curvy Girl Lingerie

I’ve got a confession. As much as I talk about self love, being confident and the importance of accepting your body for what it is (and believe me, I could do that until the cows come home), I don’t wake up every single day feeling like a million bucks. View Post

Keep calm and carry on

Keep calm and pack your carry on

My trip to Melbourne is just around the corner (I fly out this weekend), and now that I have my travel plans sorted it is time to think about what I’m packing. Clothes are pretty easy, I planned my outfits as soon as I knew for sure that I was going (which might sound excessive but I was doing a wardrobe clearout and wanted to make sure I had all the things I wanted to wear squirrelled away safely). What’s important to me is what goes in my carry on bags – the bits and pieces I will have to keep my comfortable and entertained for my flight. View Post

Travelling in style

New Zealand plus size blogger Meagan Kerr wears Lost and Led Astray Tuck Hem Dress and City Chic Sweet Elastic Jacket

As I’m sure you’re well aware, later this week I am going on my first ever solo trip overseas. While I’ve been making travel plans, I had a friend mention dress codes for flying, and it got me thinking about how we dress when we travel. View Post
