Bra Fitting Tips and Tricks

Brought to you by Rose & Thorne

Rose & Thorne White Lace Bra

When was the last time you had a bra fitting? While I strongly believe that every time you get a new bra you should have a fitting, the reality is that I buy most of my bras online (and so do many of you). Should you just buy the same size as the last bra you had? What if you’ve lost or gained weight, had a baby or toned up? All of those things will change your body shape – including your breasts – so you need to make sure that you’re wearing the correct size every single time. So how do you make sure your bra fits you properly? View Post

How to Dress for Your Body Shape

How to dress for your body shape

I remember reading Cosmo as a teenager, and trying to figure out what shape my body was. Was I a pear? A column? An hourglass? I’m definitely not an apple, my legs are too big and my boobs are enormous. I never quite fit in the definition of any of those shapes, so the “how to dress for your body shape” guides were never all that helpful. As a plus size woman, I found them even less helpful – I’m big in this bit, even bigger in that bit and small in that bit. I decided that I was peanut shaped – sort of hour glass but with more lumps and bumps. How do you figure out what shape you are? I get asked to write guides about dressing for your body shape all the time, so here it is – a really easy guide to figure out what you should wear depending on your shape. View Post

My Active Body

New Zealand plus size blogger Meagan Kerr wears Sonsee Power Long Sleeve Tee and Rainbeau Curves Veronica Print Capris

When I look at the models in activewear ads, I never see bodies like mine. The fat, lumpy bodies with rolls and big thighs and tummies. My body is the kind of body that’s shown as a “before picture”, not as one that is active. Sometimes people with bodies like mine are photographed and made fun of, as I shared on my Facebook page recently, and quite a few people told me that things like this make them feel uncomfortable going to the gym or exercising in public. I don’t give a shit if you’re fat or thin, have wobbly bits or washboard abs, I think that everyone should have the right to exercise if they want to. View Post
