Black Friday Sales 2017

Black Friday and Cyber Monday Plus Size Clothing Sales 2017

For those of you who are new to the game, this is the best time of year for shopping online with Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales happening at many of my favourite stores. We can’t forget Small Business Saturday, which is important to support because in the world of plus size fashion, many indie businesses are just one or two people making rad AF clothes.

Some of the sales on over this weekend are pretty amazing, so I’ve put together some of the great sales I’ve seen from plus size retailers. I’ll update these as I become aware of them, so make sure you keep checking back or let me know if there is one I’ve missed. Some of these links are affiliate links – it doesn’t cost you anything extra to shop using them but it means that I get a small percentage of your sale which helps to keep my blog running, so thanks for clicking through and for supporting me! Active Intent Activewear

Brought to you by The Warehouse

If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you’ll probably already know that I talk about plus size activewear reasonably often – it’s my most asked about topic, and affordable good quality activewear is really hard to find in plus sizes. Well, it was until now. I’ve been talking to the team at The Warehouse of the importance of making activewear available to a wider range of sizes for years, and I’m super excited to report that they’ve just extended their Active Intent range from a 2XL (size 20) up to a 6XL (size 30) and it is so nice! Secret Santa Gift Ideas

Secret Santa Gift Ideas

It’s that time of year when people start talking about all things Christmas. There are the Christmas parties, end of year office functions and Secret Santa gift exchanges, catching up with old friends, carolling, spending time with family … but I have to admit that I struggle to get into the holiday spirit when Christmas time rolls around. In fact, sometimes I’ve been called a downright grinch. There’s one thing that makes me less grinchy, and that’s NZ Secret Santa on Twitter. I look forward to it so much and it’s probably the thing I like the most about the festive season. If you’ve never heard of it, it’s pretty epic – basically our national postal service runs a Secret Santa gift swap on Twitter (kind of like the one you might do at work, but way cooler). View Post

You Can’t Wear That: Leopard Print Dress

New Zealand plus size blogger Meagan Kerr wears Harlow Leopard Print Bodycon Dress

The older I get, the less patience I have for people who tell me “you can’t”. As if there were some kind of rule that says fat women can’t go bare legged, wear bold prints or rock bodycon dresses. I’m here for all of that and more, because it’s my body and I will adorn it in any way I please. View Post

200 Women

200 Women, by Ruth Hobday, Geoff Blackwell and Kieran E. Scott

The other day I wrote about the need to see more plus size women represented in the media. It always excites me when I see plus size women being included in projects and campaigns without having a song and dance from a company about “look at us being all diverse and inclusive”. And that’s one of the things that got me excited about the book 200 Women. It features women who are famous and unknown; celebrated and marginalised; of many cultures, ages, sizes, and backgrounds.
