There is something about leopard print that makes me feel like an excited child and a sassy bitch all at once. I’m pretty picky when it comes to prints and patterns, but I love all kinds of leopard print and feel like it’s basically a neutral when it comes to putting my outfits together.
I was very excited when Two Lippy Ladies said they had this exclusive limited edition Lady Vintage Dress coming in sizes 8-28. It’s a leopard print Lyra dress and it’s exactly what I’ve been looking for for the longest time! I think it’s pretty special that they have an exclusive limited edition style at one of our wee New Zealand stores (they ship internationally though, if you’ve stumbled across this post but live in a different country to me).
You already know how much I love the Lady Voluptuous Lyra styles (I’ve got a black one, a black one with gold flamingoes, and a dark floral one) – they are easy to dress up and down, they travel well and I always feel bloody great in them.
As someone who thinks wearing clothes that make you feel great, I’m a big fan of “if you love something you should get it in every colour”. There are loads of great Lyra prints out there with more coming out regularly, and I love knowing that when I see a cool new print come up (like this leopard one), I can order it and know the dress will fit well and look awesome.
This is one of those styles of dress that you can pair with almost any shoe – and I have. I’ve worn my Lyras with sneakers, sandals, boots … you name it. Lately, I’ve been trying to wear things other than sneakers and my go to is always a cute flat lace up. I love the cut-out detail on these ones, and I’ve been low key looking for excuses to go out so I can wear them more often (if I worked from an office I’d totally wear them to work!).
I’ve been thinking about how much leopard print I now have in my wardrobe (like this cardigan and these trousers), and I think that it’s now on a par with my other fave, stripes. What can I say, I know what I like! Do you have a favourite print or pattern?
