Sunglass Hut & OPSM Spring/Summer 13/14 collections preview

A couple of weeks ago, I attended the Sunglass Hut & OPSM Spring/Summer 13/14 collections preview at Studio Lumiere on behalf of nzgirl. Translation: I tried on some sweet new designer glasses, and found out what’s coming up in terms of eyewear fashion.

When I say that I tried on some glasses, I mean that I tried on most of the glasses on display. I’m always on the hunt for a new frame shape that suits my face, so this was the perfect opportunity to try heaps of different kinds. Future Projections [Auckland Festival of Photography]

Last week I made the last minute decision to put some work forward for an exhibition. I wasn’t going to, because I have a whole bunch of pending uni deadlines and the project I’m working on at the moment is really personal (as in, it’s about me), but I kind of just entered it on what was literally the last day. Long story short, both pieces I submitted are in the exhibition!

New Zealand Music Month is all about celebrating our talented musical artists and is a great time to discover new New Zealand music that you may not have heard before as well as getting excited about old favourites. Heads up! My good friends at DMONIC INTENT have a pop up store running from today (Tuesday 23rd April) at in the Cross Street Arcade (214 Karangahape Road)! They’re selling a whole bunch of their amazing garments, hats and jewellery, which you may have seen at New Zealand Fashion Week over the last couple of years, and some art that you’ve won’t have seen (but should consider buying because it’s awesome!). Why hello there, lovely to meet you! Tell me about yourself…

Over the past few weeks, you’ve read about some of the wonderful bloggers I know, and now I thought that it might be time for me to learn a little about you!

Hi, I’m Meagan! Nice to meet you.

1. How old are you?
28.
2. Where are you from?
Auckland, New Zealand.
3. What do you do for a living?
I’m a full-time Design and Visual Arts student. I’m also a blogger, a photographer, a teaching assistant, and a library assistant – a bit of a Girl Friday!
4. If you could have any super power, what would it be?
Telekinesis, so I could visit my friends and family all over the world.
5. What is your favourite item in your wardrobe?
I own one pair of trousers from TS 14+ that are an amazing stretch knit fabric and are so comfortable! Their only downside is that they’re handwash only – I don’t have the attention span for that, so I don’t get to wear them as often as I’d like.
6. Where do you want to travel to?
Everywhere! I want to experience France, Scotland, Italy, Japan, Czech Republic, Antarctica and more, as well as revisiting places like Indonesia and New Caledonia.
