This week’s peplum challenge was a bit of an excuse for me to go shopping. You see, despite peplum being super popular, I’ve never had anything peplum before! So, I headed off to Kmart and prepared to get my shop on…
I won’t go in to all of the things I got from Kmart today (keep an eye out for a haul post later this week though!), but here are the peplum tops I tried on:
I was a little nervous about whether these would fit, as they’re from Kmart’s NOW straight size range and are a size 20 – a few sizes smaller than what I’d usually wear (there was no sign of peplum in the plus size section). They’re super comfortable though, so I guess this is one of those times when super stretchy material comes in handy. I think I would have preferred them to be a little bit longer though.
I like the idea of cream peplum, but thought it was way too transparent (you can totally see my bra through the top – not ideal!). I spent ages trying to decide between the blue and the pink, but the clincher ended up being how amazing the pink looked with my copper hair!
I ended up opting for the pink one (which is a shade called “new melon”), because I love the clash of pink and orange! Two fab summer colours.
So am I a peplum convert? Kind of. I’m definitely more willing to try them now, but if I buy any more they will have to be a bit longer. Especially if they’re as reasonably priced as this one – a sweet $12!
