Aussie Curves: Colour Clash

AUSSIE CURVES headerThis week’s Aussie Curves theme was Colour Clash, so I was forced to banish all my black clothes to the wardrobe and reach for the colour – not something I have much of (especially bright colours!).

Aussie Curves_Meagan Kerr_Colour Clash 3 Fortunately, I managed to find some red and purple in my closet. That clashes quite well, don’t you think? So bright! Aussie Curves_Meagan Kerr_Colour Clash 1Isn’t this dress glorious? My mom made it for me, and I wear it all the time in summer. It has yards and yards of fabric and is super comfortable. My mom’s talent isn’t just limited to dressmaking – she’s an amazing artist.  Go check out her work here!

Aussie Curves_Meagan Kerr_Colour Clash 2Look! I even have purple shoes! How did so much purple sneak into my cupboard?

Aussie Curves_Meagan Kerr_Colour Clash 5Did you notice that my hair is looking a lot lighter (and a bit more ginger) than usual? Bonus points if you did – I’ve just used a hair lightening treatment to prepare my hair for a drastic colour change.  Keep your eyes peeled for a review of the lightening treatment and my new colour…

Thanks Melissa! Did you make your dress or buy it? If you bought it, who was the designer? I want to be able to direct people to similar dresses but haven’t seen them in NZ!

Red and purple may clash, but you’re also really colour coordinated here too! Really cute look 🙂

Thanks Katie! I think that pretty much all of my clothes work well together – it’s something I consider whenever I add a new piece to my wardrobe!

I love red and purple together! Your blog is starting to become one of my favourites to check on the blog roll! Your photos are always great and I love what you put together! Also, I wish my mum would sew me clothes as awesome as that! haha

Thanks hun! I’d love to learn to sew properly so I could make my own clothes. Maybe that could be my next adventure once I graduate uni…

You look amazing! I can’t say I’ve ever paired purple and red together, but now I REALLLLY want to! Can’t wait to see what you do with your hair! xox

Thank you, lovely! You should definitely try it out – it’s too bright for me to wear on a regular day, but maybe I could keep the shoes and accessories with the dress 😉

I love this! You look like a beautiful colour clash snow white or something. LOVE! Good luck with the hair change, I cannot wait to see the end result considering how gorgeous the in-between is.
