17 Sundays Basics

It’s no secret that I have a long term love affair with 17 Sundays. Their style reflects my own, they’ve been with me through my whole blogging journey and they just keep killing it with looks that I can imagine myself wearing as soon as I see them.

The 17 Sundays Basics range is exactly that – the must have staple pieces in their classic styles, usually available in a variety of prints and colours. I started out on 17 Sundays Basics about seven years ago. I had a couple of dresses, some of their leggings and two pairs of super short shorts (that I still have and wear round home in summer). That was enough for me to fall in love.

They shared some of their latest Basics range with me, and I wanted to share them with you. I thought I’d talk about them in a video so you could see what they’re like.

This velour tracksuit makes me feel like a complete badass. I spent half of the 90’s either in dance classes or watching music videos, and teenage me wanted a black velour tracksuit so bad. I never became a backup dancer but I’m still living those fashion dreams! The pants are actually more cropped on me than what I showed in the video (a bit hard sometimes when you’re filming in your very small lounge!). I think I could even wear the cuffs a little higher for a more slouchy look. There’s pockets galore and beautiful rose gold hardware. Overall this feels like a super luxe athleisure outfit and I am so here for that.

17 Sundays does casual t-shirt style dresses really well. I’ve had quite a few over the years and I always find myself gravitating towards them. I’m definitely new to the tie front style, it gives a nice drape across the front but it’s not my favourite detail on a dress. As I mentioned in the video, I’m not really sure how to tie it in a way that I feel like it adds to my look – let me know if you have any suggestions! I really love the colour of this dress though, and this the fabric is super comfortable.

This duster coat is really great for transeasonal outfits. I really struggle with the drastic swings in temperature throughout the day, so layering has become essential. The duster is a lightweight knit, so it’s really good for when you just want a light layer. I usually wear mine over the top of black pants and black tee, but there are lots of ways to style it.

As always, these pieces are great quality and I know i’m going to be wearing them a lot. The striped cropped harems have already been a staple despite the fact that I have no pictures of me in them. Terrible form for a blogger, I know! I’ll try to get some the next time I wear them so keep an eye on my Instagram.

How would you style the tie front dress?
Let me know which of the pieces I picked is your favourite.
