Winter accessories

Hats, gloves, scarves, wraps, umbrellas … let’s be honest, when winter arrives in New Zealand, accessories become essentials to help you keep from turning into an iceblock. In an effort to keep warm in this cold snap, I’ve been hunting out some great winter accessories to keep you nice and toasty.

Harlow One Love Wrap

One Love Wrap, AUD $99.00 from Harlow

At the top of my list of “must have” accessories this winter is this wrap from Harlow. You can use it as a wrap, a scarf, a blanket… yep, perfect for snuggling in to (and it’s in marsala, 2015’s Pantone Colour of the Year).

Winter accessories - scarf

Nothing beats snuggling up into a scarf, as you’re walking down the street with a cold wind blowing. There are lots of different styles but my personal favourite is a snood because they have the cosiest fit (I wear mine doubled over) and the ends won’t dangle in your soup – bonus.

SHOP IT: Next Plain Acrylic Scarf, $32.00 from EziBuy | Debut Knitted Snood, $15.00 from The Warehouse | Textured Knit Scarf, AUD $29.99 from Autograph | Polly Knitted Scarf, $29.99 from EziBuy

Winter accessories - gloves and umbrellas

My fingers are the first part of me to feel the cold – so gloves are a must have, whether I’m out and about or sitting at my desk (this is when fingerless gloves are perfect). I’m thinking about getting some armwarmers as well, I love these ones from Glassons. What kind of gloves do you wear?

SHOP IT: Cable Knit Armwarmers, $14.99 from Glassons | Leather Gloves, $49.99 from EziBuy | Xcesri Lady Like Umbrella, $27.99 from Farmers | Cable Knit Fleece Lined Mittens, $29.98 from Kathmandu | Rainy Days Polka Dot Tri Fold Umbrella, $12.00 from The Warehouse | Merino Gloves, $49.98 from Kathmandu | Rainy Days Houndstooth Umbrella, $15.00 from The Warehouse

Winter accessories - hats

Until recently I wasn’t really a hat person. Hats looked rubbish on my and I figured that it just wasn’t to be. However, I kept up my search and I’ve since found quite a few styles that do suit me! My new favourite is from Kathmandu (shown below) and over the last few weeks I’ve been wearing it almost daily. Unfortunately it’s one from a past season that I inherited from my mom, so if you know where to find one similar let me know!

SHOP IT: Boston & Bailey Tweed Military Cap, $20.99 from Farmers | Gaiter Beanie, $29.98 from Kathmandu | Atmos&Here Floppy Hat, AUD $29.95 from The Iconic | Gregory Ladner Lurex Knit Beret, AUD $39.95 from The Iconic
