This is 100 Days

I don’t know about you, but when the weather turns chilly I find myself becoming so unmotivated. I actually wish that we could hibernate when it gets cold. Unfortunately I am a human and not a squirrel, so I’ve decided that I’ll use my time much more productively. Inspired by the 100 Happy Days challenge, Give It 100, and the 100 Days Project, I’m setting myself a 100 day challenge starting on the 1st of May, and I’d like you to join me.

What will your next 100 days look like? #thisis100days

You could challenge yourself to go vegetarian for 100 days. Practice 100 days of self love. Try 100 new recipes. Walk 10,000 steps every day. Draw something every day.  Watch a “must see” film. Try a new makeup look (and finally master that winged eyeliner)… The sky is the limit! Have a think about what you’d like to achieve and build your goal around that.

I did a photo a day challenge in 2012 to inspire my creativity outside my studies (the photos are a bit cringeworthy, but you can check it out here if you’d like), and I’ve taken part in The Happiness Experiment and shared three good things every day for more than 100 days (this made a huge difference to my outlook on life and I highly recommend it!), so I’ve done things for my creative and emotional wellbeing, but now I want to take on a more physical challenge!

When it gets cold my motivation to exercise totally goes out the window, so that’s going to be my challenge this time around. To find pleasure in movement for 100 days. I’m going to explore yoga a little more, go on hiking adventures around our beautiful country and explore ways of enjoying movement – whether that be something simple like a 30 minute walk, dancing it out or trying something new like pilates. Why am I blogging about this? Because I think that putting your intentions out there into the world helps to keep you accountable (and because if I need motivation, it’s great to know that other people have my back – I’ll support you on your challenge as well!

I’m going to be keeping track of my 100 days on instagram, and if you would like to join me that would be rad! You can also feel free to share your posts on my facebook page or tag me in on twitter. Use the hashtag #thisis100days so that I can see your posts and we can support each other. I’ll have some spot prizes to keep you motivated, so make sure you leave me a comment below to let me know if you’re keen to join in and what you’d like to challenge yourself to do!

MY CHALLENGE: To find pleasure in movement every day for 100 days.

What will your next 100 days look like?

I feel like I also need to do 100 days of body positivity which is my biggest struggle!!

      • April 30, 2015 / 4:46 pm

Can I set you a challenge for this? I want you to grab a jar and every day for 100 days I want you to write something positive down about your body, and put it in the jar. It could be anything from “I have nice hair today” or “I am strong” to “my butt looks really great in these jeans”. At the end of you 100 days I want you to take that jar into a quiet room (in your nice new home!) and open the jar. Read through all of those things and remember how wonderful you are ❤️ Do you reckon you can do that?

YAY, so excited to have you guys on board. What kind of workouts do you normally do?

Hi Megan – I’m new to Instagram and will love to take you up on the challenge to take a photo a day for 100 days of something I see on my daily walks. If a really bad winter day and I don’t go for a walk, then a photo from my yoga mat.

    • April 30, 2015 / 4:10 pm

Awesome! We’ve got really bad weather here and I’m thinking I might be sharing a few yoga mat photos myself!

Count me in. 10000+ steps per day, continue on my pathway of HAES and being kinder to myself. Happiness is not a clothing size it is an approach to living life. I have spent enough years hiding in clothing size and allowing it to stop enjoying myself. No more.

This is a great idea! I’m very keen to do this. Not sure what I am going to focus on but I am thinking it will probably be fitness related as well:)

I swear, we’re gonna be the fittest bunch of babes!

    Hi Meagan,

Thank you for the inspiration and awesome Idea! I am definitely going to do a 100 day challenge. I know exercise is something I’d like to focus on for health reasons and I’d also like to try eating more whole foods. I’m going to have a little thinking time and narrow it down a bit more and get a “My Challenge” mission statement so to speak. Just wanted to stop by with a quick Thank-you as I’ve been in a rut lately and needed this x

Great to have you on board, Phoebe! Keep me posted and let me know what you narrow that mission statement down to! xo

Fantastic challenge Meagan… go for it! It will be so automatic by the end of your 100 days that you won’t question continuing with it. Pilates is great, definitely give it a go! I loved aqua jogging too as it didn’t really feel like exercise, but boy did you know about it afterwards!

Not sure about my own 100 days challenge. You’ve got my brain going now!

    • April 29, 2015 / 1:06 pm

That’s what I’m hoping! 100 days will put me near the end of winter (like, mid August), by which time I’m hoping that things will warm up a bit!

Awesome!! I think I may just do this! My 100 days will be daily exercise, and healthy eating (my major challenge)

    • April 29, 2015 / 11:12 am

Ooh, a double challenge, nice one! Good luck Rachael, I look forward to seeing how you get on! xo

I’m totally in. 1 May is the day my life changes forever- moving from the city to a commuter town. On top of that, it’s also the day my (southern hemisphere) winter Cardi knit-along kicks off.
I commit to recording the transition, setting up my new home and making time for those things I love.

    • April 29, 2015 / 11:14 am

That sounds like a MASSIVE life change Penelope! And an exciting one. I look forward to following your journey – best of luck for the move! xo

What a wonderful idea. Not to sure what i am going to do,will have to have a think about

This may sound strange but because of my grandmother’s passing yesterday I have decided to take this challenge. I am going to buy a notebook and for 100 days I am going to write down one family memory a day. Whether that means calling my parents or other family members to piece a memory together (great excuse to keep in contact) or just reliving something from the past.
I’m hoping it’s going to help my emotional well-being as I’ve already taken on a physical challenge this year.

Thanks for the idea Meagan 🙂 Can’t wait to take part!

    • April 29, 2015 / 11:27 am

Sorry to hear about your grandmother Sam. That will be a lovely collection to reflect back on, and such a special way of keeping memories alive xo

Thanks Meagan 🙂 I’m hoping it’ll be something to celebrate our family and my grandmother in particular. xx

I love this! What a wonderful initiative.

  14. April 29, 2015 / 8:46 am

THIS IS A FANTASTIC IDEA!!!!!!! I needed this and I’m going to be a copy cat and go with the same challenge. We could even a group of Auckland gals (and guys) together and tick off some days together.

    Thanks 🙂

It sounds like a challenge, but it sounds like just what I need! I’m keen to take on an exercise challenge – like you, I really struggle to get out and about when it’s cold. I have a Fitbit recording my daily steps, so I’d like to hit 10,000 every day over 100 days.
