So much of the holidays is centred around tradition, and we all have our own things that we do year after year, special things that make us look forward to the holidays, that we share with our friends and our family. For me, one of those traditions has become spending time together on Christmas Eve.
We all lead busy lives and spend a lot of time staring at a screen every day – mostly my job involves staring at a computer for hours on end – so we try to have quality time that doesn’t involve us staring at our phones or laptops. I know right – actually spending time together being present! Christmas Eve is a great time to stay in and avoid the last minute Christmas rush of shopping and people going to look at lights, and to do something fun together – especially if you’ve had to travel to be together.
Whether it’s with your partner, your besties, your siblings or your own kids, something fun to do is get together a Night Before Christmas box with everything you need for a great night in. The box I’ve put together here has a movie to watch together, along with some snacks and drinks. You could also include a game to play together (our whanau loves Phase 10, Yahtzee and Trouble), or an activity – one year we decorated cookies and another year we made a gingerbread house together.
The finishing touches are on the tree and now we’re ready for Christmas
This is the time of year when we get our new summer pyjamas, so they go in the box as well, and we put them on at the start of the evening (because pyjama parties are super fun no matter how old you are!). I’ve picked out a couple of pairs of pyjamas for myself from Peter Alexander – one is a long pair of PJ pants that I’ve paired with a tank top (which has an inbuilt shelf bra) and the other is a nightie with a paisley print which is oh so soft, and both pairs have pockets, which is brilliant! I’m not too sure which pair will end up in my Night Before Christmas box yet though, probably the pants and top, which are perfect for lounging about in. We also do a Christmas Eve box for the kids and they are always most excited about what pjs they’re going to get. Wow I didn’t realise that Peter Alexander pj’s would be so reasonable when on special! I would love the “I believe in unicorns” tee and “Rainbow spot” boyshort for my daughter, or the Rainbow Nightie. She LOVES sleepwear!!! lol

My family’s tradition is we all make our gingerbread house together the day before xmas and decorate it. The kids get to open one present early which is always a new pair of pjs then we watch a xmas movie. This tradition is passed down from my family. I loved it and my kids do now as well.๐โค I love the Hankie hem PJ’s I love nighties and purple my favourite colour. This would be perfect as I only ever get the kids pjs now never my own. I would be a 22 or a dsl please โ

Christmas tree nightiee or my daughter loves the lion king. Last nights family christmas with my sidw of family consisted of phase 10 and top trumps. 2 packs of Phase 10 packed for 11 of us to play Christmas ๐

Iโd love to win the PA Plus Paris Knit set – so cute! We always spend time preparing Santaโs tray on Christmas Eve, and putting out carrots in the paddock next door for the reindeer. Then when the kids are in bed itโs time for a quiet drink with the lights out and the Christmas Tree lights on.

We get right into the spirit of Christmas. One of our traditions is to plant jellybeans, and in the morning they turn into candy canes. I love the ‘I Believe In Unicorns’ pj set ๐

Love the Hakuna matata set! No real Xmas Eve traditions here. As a kid (in Europe) Xmas Eve was the big family get together and celebrate time. Then we had Xmas day at home to open the presents we got and play all day. Have tried to do that here too with our little family, though I miss snow at Xmas! It still doesn’t feel right to have a summer Xmas, even after 15 years!
I LOVE LOVE LVOE Peter Alexander Pjs. Since I first found them years ago, I have loved them. I still have my very first pair I purchased, they were light pink with big diamond rings all over them. They have been well loved!! My partner and I donโt have children (fingers crossed when we start IVF next year!) so not a lot of Christmas Eve traditions. But this year we are going to my Mum and dads to give them their presents early and to have a cup of tea, and just give them our thanks for all the support they have provided us with this year.

I’m a huge fan of PA Just love their items and their shops are sooo clean ๐๐ป. Such good quality! I’ve had my eye on the Silver Rose Classic pant and the Christmas Icons pant for a while now they are so pretty and fun. Christmas Eve for us is usually a drive around to look at Christmas lights, Christmas movies with snacks and family card games. Usually Liverpool rummy or up the river down the river. The lights are usually dimmed and the Christmas trees are all twinkling. It’s funny how Christmas brings out the child in all adults ๐

I would love to win xx my choice would be the grinch shorts or the men’s grinch pants ! I fell in love with the Seuss range that they bought out last year, but didn’t realise that they did a plus size range so added it to my one day wish list . I’ve had bariatric surgery about 6 months ago and am now about 40 kilos smaller than I was. They’ve stopped selling the sets that I initially wanted as a congratulatory gift to myself but now I’ve found the grinch set and I’m in love all over again!
My kids,husband and I like to have a BBQ together outside on Christmas Eve and then sit down to watch Christmas movies, we do the Christmas Eve box with pyjamas and a book for each of my little ones ๐ Before bed we read the stories and eat the left over advent calendar chocolates ๐ !! Lastly we say goodnight and lay out the treats for santa !! My favourite time of year
I’m living for the plus bedtime story floral set! We are big time pj gamers. When the kids are up we play sushi go or adventure time flux. When the kids are in bed we are all over cards against humanity, game of the thrones risk and cranium ๐

Christmas Eve is such a special time. Our family always all gather together to read The Night Before Christmas and sing carols while sitting on the youngest childโs bed. I would LOVE the Grinch short and tee but only to be ironic because Iโm not a Grinch at all! Christmas is the best x
My daughter is two and is totally into Christmas this year so Iโve packed a book and pj for Nana, mummy and her in there to give to her Christmas Eve. I would definitely pick the Lion King pjs, we have recently started watching all the Disney classics, but itโs so hard to find branded wear in plus sizes!! It never happened, and I want to applaud PA for including us! Their stuff is gorgeous, well made and washes beautifully.

Every year we have family and friends around for supper after 8pm mass and watch Carols by Candlelight and occasionally the nearby fireworks if they are on. Been doing it for 20 odd years.

I’m so totally in love with the PA Grinch pjs! I keep seeing them when I walk past the store in the pฤบaza! I love everything Dr Seuss and even have a cat in the hat duvet set on me bed ๐ for me it reminds me of being able to have fun living in the moment.
Oh my gosh! As yet I have never owned a pair of PA pj’s, but I do love my creative cute pjs. In the last few years, I have been a bit grinchy about xmas (I’ve had to work xmas day!!), so I think something with the Grinch on it would be perfect, and if I don’t win, I may have to go and buy these ones! ๐
We always have ham sandwiches on xmas eve, and when I was a kid, it was with all the extended family at a big homestead so the kids used to always go out at dark and see if we could see santa flying across the sky in his sleigh!
Since having kids our tradition has always been to make reindeer food and pick a ‘landing spot’ on the lawn to sprinkle the reindeer food (mixture of birdseed, carrots and of course glitter!) so they can snack while santa sneaks in and fills the sacks!!! Whatever we do it always involves the WHOLE family xx

Meagan! I only found Peter Alexander recently and I am in LOVE. The Vintage Mid Pj Short sums me up perfectly, and my finace and I are starting new Christmas traditions this year, relaxing with our dogs, enjoying some bubbles and watching a Christmas movie (Die Hard).

Family traditon for us was to go to midnight mass and everyone comes back to our house for tea and cake. If us kids were awake we were allowed to open one present. Forever falling asleep to a christmas movie while trying to stay up till morning. I love the paris knit set and the tile Shirt. They are both cute so you can pick your fav for me xx.

Our latest xmas eve tradition is the kids planting tic tacs (because they grow into candy canes overnight) then me scrabbling around in the dark when they’re finally asleep (late!) planting the blimmin candy canes. Would much rather be chilling in pjs.

All though I’m 43 years old I would feel like a kid again wearing the Grinch tee and shorts.Funnily enough I love Xmas. Its my fave time of year. I were reindeer ears, mini hats everyday at work from the 1st Dec. Ps I’m the only one who does haha. We have watched The Santa Claus movie a tonne of times, its pretty old now but my kids have watched it since they were little and they are now in their 20s. Tim Allen was fabulous. Always PJs, movies and nibbles Xmas eve. We also do Franklin Rd lights drive.

On Christmas eve we decorate the tree with the edible treats (candy canes and chocs), we make the plate of treats for Santa and carrots for the reindeer and we read twas the night before Christmas to Zach. I love the Hakuna Matata set. So super cute
I’d love the maternity spot set since I’m pregnant with our second bubba. We’ve started a “Christmas seed” tradition. We plant tic tacs the night before in the garden and then they magically turn into candy canes over night

In our household we have Christmas Eve Cake and Coffee night. It’s based on a German tradition. All our friends and family come around, we all bring something sweet to share with everyone else and spend the evening together. The kids get Christmas eve boxes, a Christmas T-shirt, a Christmas book, a Christmas straw and drink, and some chocolate.
We all sit round in our pjs and watch whatever Xmas movie is on.
I’d go for the grumpy cat 3/4 pants and short sleeve tee. We don’t really have Christmas eve traditions, we just have a quiet night prepping for Santa and enjoying time together before the madness of Christmas day begins

This year we are starting a new tradition, new pjs for everyone xmas eve and a xmas movie. I spent about an hour going through PA website, loved everything but just couldn’t afford anything. I’d need another hour to choose which ones I’d want lol
The Grinch set is adorable, and my 5 year old would be so excited to see me wearing them! The Grinch is definitely the go-to Christmas movie at our whare.
