We are well and truly headed toward summer, and I think my favourite things really reflect that this month. A lot of change happens in spring – change of seasons, change of habits, change of things in our lives … I’m embracing the change! Continue reading
A few people have been asking about how I get my skin to look so good, so I thought I’d give you a rundown on the skincare routine I’ve been using this winter. It changed my skin from dry and flaky to smooth and hydrated – my skin has never looked this good! All of these products are cruelty free, and most of them are made in New Zealand – hurray! Last year I made the decision to go cruelty free and stop using beauty products that are tested on animals. Before I made that leap, I thought that going cruelty free meant spending lots of money on obscure hard to find products. Boy, was I wrong! It’s become easier and easier to find great products that don’t come at the expense of our animal friends. Seeing as it’s #BeCrueltyFree week this week, I think there are a few things you need to know about cruelty free beauty.
It’s not long until Christmas (two and a half weeks, eek!), and if you haven’t got your Christmas gifts sorted yet then you need to hop to it! Here is the first of my Christmas gift guides to give you a bit of a helping hand.
Evo “Caring Haze” Xmas Pack* $69.90
Cold weather can take a serious toll on your skin and hair, so I’ve put together a few of my fave winter beauty items to get you through the cold months…
Like many people, I’ve long had the idea that using oil on my skin will make it oily and greasy. Did you know that’s not true? If you have dry skin or blemishes, oils can help to seal in moisture by forming a protective barrier, as well as cleaning out pores, and reducing irritation and redness. If you’ve got oily skin, the natural ingredients in these oils will trick your skin into thinking it already has enough oil, which will shut off sebum production. Totally not what you thought , right? Oils are great for balancing and detoxing dry, oily, or combination skin!
I’ve been using Trilogy’s Rosehip Oil Antioxidant+ for the last few weeks, because over Winter my skin gets super dehydrated and congested – not cool!
This week has been amazing! I’m still really unwell, but am *fingers crossed* on the mend. I’m pretty excited that it’s raining today – for those of you not in New Zealand, we have a pretty bad drought going on here at the moment (the worst in about 30 years) so a little bit of rain is very welcome right now!
1. I went to #nzgirlbloggersclub on Tuesday, and took home the prize for Top Blogger for February 2013! I got a humungous gift pack from Trilogy (below) that I can’t wait to get in to – it all smells divine.
