Coral is one of my favourite colours. It has been for a little while, but it’s a shade that’s going to be popular again this spring and summer so consider this your heads up. I love it to add a pop of colour to an all black outfit!
I just spent an amazing weekend in Wellington (which is the capital city of New Zealand, for all of my overseas readers who don’t know much about the country I live in), where I got to celebrate plus size fashion, meet some great new people, catch up with old friends, eat delicious food, attend Wellington Fashion Week and photograph some gorgeous women for my Fat Girls Shouldn’t Wear Stripes project. More about that later though – first I wanted to share this outfit with you because I am so in love with this skirt! Continue reading
It’s not long until Christmas (two and a half weeks, eek!), and if you haven’t got your Christmas gifts sorted yet then you need to hop to it! Here is the first of my Christmas gift guides to give you a bit of a helping hand.
This week’s Aussie Curves theme was Oversized – not really a look that I wear often, as I prefer clothing that accentuates my shape. One thing I’ve started doing recently though (and this is nothing new) is wearing belts to cinch in my waist and provide definition where a baggy top or dress might not show it (or to break up an outfit).
Monochrome is a timeless trend – black and white look amazing together and are an instantly classy look. No matter what the season, you can rock the monochrome look or brighten it up with a pop of colour. Here are a few of my favourite monochrome pieces right now…
The skater skirt is still a firm favourite of mine – I love the way that it kicks out at the bottom, and think that this variegated stripe looks super cool! Continue reading
My wardrobe consists primarily of neutrals – navy blues, greys and blacks are pretty much my staples. I then like to liven things up with accessories – either coloured or textured – that make me look and feel fantastic.
nzgirl asked me to compile a list of my top ten scarves, and I thought that even though we are entering the cooler months I would include some that can be worn all year round, because scarves and wraps are wonderful for all seasons!
This is, hands down, my number one must have scarf. Don’t you think it looks super snuggly and warm? It comes in a variety of colours, including burgundy (as seen here), so everyone should be able to find a colour to suit them. Continue reading
Introducing the hottest new colour trend for Autumn/Winter 2013 (and where to find it)…
Oxblood is in, so say the fashion masses. It’s a deep red wine colour that is reminiscent of drinking mulled wine as the air grows crisper and the leaves change colour (my favourite time of year), making it perfect for Autumn/Winter. It’s deep and luxurious, with a lush richness that makes it super striking.
I’m loving oxblood knits – keep your eye out for warm snuggly sweaters or luxurious infinity loop scarves (something definitely on my wish list!), or add in a little colour with an oxblood lipstick or nail polish. Oxblood is perfectly paired with black, charcoal, white and other neutrals – a jump away from the garish neons we have been seeing all summer.
Here are a few of my fave finds (and where you can get them) – what do you think? Continue reading
