Review: Naturigin Cruelty Free Hair Colour

For the longest time, I’ve been hunting for a good quality hair dye that’s cruelty free and the right shade of red. Even finding cruelty free hair colour that you can use at home is a pretty difficult feat in New Zealand, let alone one in red, so it’s been salon-only for a long time. Until now.

Naturigin Cruelty Free Hair Colour - Medium Blonde Deep Red 7.55 - What is in the box

When the team at Naturigin got in touch and told me about their hair colour I knew immediately that I had to try it – they have a pretty good range of colours to choose from and I spent a long time tossing up between Medium Blonde Deep Red 7.55, Medium Blonde Red 7.4 and Medium Copper Blonde 6.34 – spoilt for choice! I settled on the Medium Blonde Deep Red because I wanted something a little bit warmer than my usual copper for winter. Continue reading

Review: geoskincare Night Repair Cream

Night Repair Cream

I’m sure we all know the importance of a good night cream – your skin needs a chance to rehydrate and rebalance itself at night, after all it’s had to deal with during the day.

Night creams are generally heavier than day creams (i.e. your normal everyday moisturiser, which should contain some kind of SPF if you know what’s good for you!), and they’re a bit thicker.

Karen Murrell True Miracle: Intense Balm

Karen Murrell true_miracle_raw_ingredients

I saw a Karen Murrell lipstick pop up as an nzgirl fave a couple of months ago, and after reading it I got the name Karen Murrell stuck in my head. When I saw a tube of Karen Murrell True Miracle: Intense Balm, I HAD to have it!

The True Miracle: Intense Balm is organic, and contains delicious things like beeswax, honey and cocoa butter. All of the ingredients in Karen Murrell’s products are cruelty free, come from renewable sources, and the company has a strong ethical policy (find out more about their philosophy here).

I am so glad I picked this up – it has been a saviour when my skin is dry after a hot sunny day, and even more so for my poor hands after spending hours in the garden! It’s also an amazing lip conditioner and gloss, meaning that it really is a multi-purpose miracle.

I’m now a Karen Murrell convert and can’t wait to try out some more of her products! Check out the website to find out what other amazing products she makes. If you’d like to purchase some, check the list of stockists – but hurry, because I’ve just found out that as of January 2013 Karen Murrell will no longer be selling skincare products. Make sure you stock up now!
