Stripes on stripes

This is Meagan Kerr wears K&K Stripe Mixed Panel Dress and Wide Brim Sun Hat

Unless you are very very new to my blog, you’ve probably realised that I love stripes by now. And the only thing better than stripes is stripes on stripes, right? I went to K&K to check out what they’ve got in store this summer and tried on everything I could get my hands on (I share my changing room try ons in my Instagram Stories and on Snapchat so make sure you follow me there!), and the thing I loved the most was this dress. Short legs and cropped pants

New Zealand plus size fashion blogger Meagan Kerr wears Kate Madison Lace Up Side Top and Cropped Bengaline Pants from The Warehouse

I’m pretty short and proportionally I have a long torso and short legs. I thought that this was the reason it has always been a nightmare for me to find trousers that fit me properly. I have had to hem my trousers for as long as I can remember, because pants weren’t just an inch or two too long, they were six inches to a foot too long. That’s the size of a bloody Subway sandwich isn’t it? Continue reading

I grew up in the 90’s

NZ plus size fashion blogger Meagan Kerr celebrates the revival of 90's style

I started high school in 1997 – I was 12 years old, fresh faced and just beginning to really establish my own style and sense of who I was as a person. The Craft had come out the year before and it’s safe to say that film had a big impact on how I dressed all through high school (and let’s be honest, that witchy aesthetic is still very much my style). Now it’s 2016 and I’m 32 years old, and I’m seeing 90’s fashion back in style again. Continue reading

Halloween Costume: Wednesday Addams

Plus size blogger Meagan Kerr dresses up as Wednesday Addams for Halloween

I was putting together my post on Halloween costume ideas, and before I knew it I had “accidentally” purchased this dress. As soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to dress as Wednesday Addams for Halloween – she’s such a great character and really appeals to my dress sense. Continue reading

Navabi A-Line dress for work

This is Meagan Kerr wears Navabi A Line Dress in wine - plus size workwear

As you all know, I don’t work in an office job any more, so I’m pretty much free to wear whatever I like during working hours (hello pyjamas!). Great for me, but not so helpful for those of you who need ideas on what to wear to work! So when Navabi got in touch and invited me to pick something out of their range I wanted to choose something I knew would be an awesome option to wear either to work or out and about (multi-purpose clothes are the best kind!). Continue reading

Time to get comfortable

New Zealand plus size fashion blogger Meagan Kerr wears Hope & Harvest Luxe Easywear Dress

Gone are the days of high heels, uncomfortable g strings and hemlines I’m constantly pulling down, one thing I look for in my clothes now is comfort. As someone who works from home, I freely admit that I quite often get up and shower only to put on a clean pair of pyjama pants (come on, don’t tell me you wouldn’t wear pyjamas all the time if you could!). When I have to put on real world clothes, being comfortable is key. Continue reading

The importance of texture

New Zealand plus size fashion blogger Meagan Kerr wears Lost and Led Astray Dress and Leggings with Lost & Sole Snakeskin Boots from Number One Shoes

One of the things I’ve learned as someone who wears a lot of black on black is that texture is important – it makes an all black outfit look much more interesting. Lately I’ve been getting in to sheer fabrics and I feel like it’s making a big difference to my outfit game. Continue reading

Autumn Days

New Zealand plus size fashion blogger Meagan Kerr wears Autumn Days Dress from City Chic

I’m very much an autumn person. I love the autumn weather, when it’s warm but not too hot, and days are still long; when leaves start to turn red and fall from trees (do you know how satisfying it is to stomp through crunchy autumn leaves?). I love the colours of autumn, both the colours in nature and in fashion. Blacks, greys, deep reds, mustards, burnt oranges, navy blues … that is my kind of colour palette (no matter what time of year it is). Continue reading

The Kate Midington Skirt

I got to wear it for an upcoming project that I’m part of (more details about that to come next week) and now I am obsessed! Continue reading
