If you’ve been following me on twitter and facebook, you have probably guessed that I’m a bit of a fan of Outlander

By “a bit of a fan”, I mean that I’m an Outlander fangirl through and through! I’ve read all of the books in Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series multiple times, and have seen all of the episodes of the new Outlander series. It’s available exclusively on Lightbox in New Zealand, and I’m eagerly awaiting episode 7!

Style It: The Women of Mad Men

Brought to you by Lightbox

Have you seen Mad Men yet? I’ve been watching it on Lightbox over the last few weeks and I can’t believe I haven’t seen it sooner. What I love most is the women of Mad Men – they’re strong and sassy (especially Joan Holloway, who is played by Christina Hendricks), and such snappy dressers!

Guest Post: Plus Size Pinup

Guest post by Cara Hill

I think an important part of the body positive journey is wearing clothes that make you feel fabulous – at least, it has been a very important part of my journey. I find it nearly impossible to feel bad about myself and my body if I am wearing a kick ass outfit, one that I love, that I feel good in and that I believe looks good on me.

My favourite style at the moment is retro inspired – tops and full swings skirts or dresses that nip in at the waist, all worn with layers of petticoats underneath. It is a style that I feel fantastic in, and thankfully there are a number of companies out there at the moment that are providing retro reproductions (designs inspired by true vintage but in modern fabrics and colours) in plus sizes. Trend Tip: Teal

As we transition from winter in to spring, we’re seeing gorgeous new spring/summer lines of clothing in stores and teal is one of the stand out colours. Whether you go for a darker shade or a lighter one, teal is great for all skin tones.

This dress is super smart, and I absolutely adore the detailing.  I’d definitely pair this with some tights, as it is still a bit nippy out and the hemline is rather high…  View Post
