I’ve got a confession to make. When it comes to makeup, I’m no expert – I just know what I like and what I don’t. It’s got to be easy to apply, not fiddly, make me feel good and be cruelty free – Karen Murrell lipsticks tick all those boxes. I probably own about 15 of them now, with backups of my favourite colours because they are actually the best. Continue reading
When I think “rock chic”, I think black, denim, studs, leather and eyeliner. And red lipstick, of course. I’m always up for giving something a go, so for our NZ Style Curvettes challenge this week I thought I’d combine all of those things into one outfit. Continue reading
The Pantone Colours of the Year are Rose Quartz and Serenity – a warm rose tone and a cool tranquil blue. This means that we are now seeing a lot of pastel/candy colours cropping up everywhere from homeware to fashion and I for one am loving it. I thought that with Easter just around the corner I’d share a few sweet treats that have been catching my eye…
I’ve only recently (over the last year or two) really started to wear lip colour and already I’ve found my favourite lipsticks. New Zealand brand Karen Murrell’s natural lipsticks use only the best pure, natural and proven safe chemical ingredients with no animal-based materials and they’re not tested on animals. I spied this on my friend Sophie’s blog Nana Wintour and thought it would be something interesting to answer for myself. If you’re a longtime reader then you’ll know that I only use cruelty free beauty products, so if you’re thinking of going cruelty free then this could be a great place for you to discover some loves. I’d love to know your answers as well, so make sure you leave me a comment at the end! Continue reading
When it comes to makeup, I think I’m pretty blunt about the fact that I don’t have killer makeup skills. I like to keep it minimal, and my go to style is more of a no makeup makeup look than when I’m going for a full face look. I only use a few products to give me a look that is polished but not overdone – I switch out my full coverage foundation for a tinted moisturiser, swap my lipstick for a more subtle one and just generally tone everything down a bit.
A little something new for you today: I decided to make my (very, very awkward) debut with a video where I actually talk! I’m going to try and share new videos every couple of weeks, so if there is something that you would really like me to see then drop me a comment below and I will see what I can do. Sophie from Nana Wintour encouraged me to share my June favourites, so here you are: some of my fave skin, hair and beauty things from the last month. Continue reading
Happy Halloween, my lovelies! I’m away on a wee vacation with my love, so instead of trick or treating this Halloween I have nothing but lovely treats to share with you today. I hope you have an awesome weekend filled with candy, all kinds of pumpkin everything and spooky times!
