While I was in Melbourne I paid a visit to Harlow HQ and got a sneak peek at what they’ve got coming up for this spring and summer. I’m not going to lie, it was pretty exciting to see where all the goodness happens (and to see what’s coming up)! And now, I get to share some of the excitement with you because I am FINALLY allowed to share Harlow’s first lookbook of the season. Continue reading
There has been a lot of military style on the catwalks for the last couple of years, but rather than thinking of army green, I’m reaching for the navy. Navy is one of my favourite neutral shades and that makes it really easy to work in with what’s in my wardrobe. Continue reading
I’m one of those people who has resting bitch face. No, I’m not in a bad mood, I’m not mad at you (trust me, you’d know if I was), I’m not scowling, that’s just my face. The amount of times I’ve heard things like “You would be prettier if you smiled” and “cheer up love, it can’t be that bad” must number in the hundreds (if not thousands) by now. Here’s the thing though – my face is fine just as it is. Some days I don’t feel like plastering on a smile just to make myself more pleasing to someone else, and I shouldn’t have to. Except sometimes I feel like I do… Continue reading

As I’m sure you all know by know, autumn is my favourite season for fashion – lots of layering, a darkening colour palette, snuggly knits and any excuse for getting cosy with a big scarf. I’m loving denim, merino, checks, stripes… here are a few of my style picks for autumn. Continue reading
Harlow is a long time supporter of my blog and their mostly monochrome style fits perfectly with my own. Chic and classic are two words that sum them up, and their gorgeous denim really is cut for your curves! Continue reading
Today I went along to the opening of The Brickworks at LynnMall, a lovely space in New Lynn that has some great restaurants (including Cleaver & Co., Hansan, Shaky Isles, Goode Brothers and Wagamama) and is conveniently not too far away from my house. I can totally imagine some great nights out with friends over summer, underneath the lights that criss-cross overhead. Continue reading
It might be more than ten years ago, but I remember when I worked in finance and wore a strict corporate uniform. As far as uniforms went it wasn’t the worst, but I really hated the lack of individuality in my outfits, and my inability to express myself through my clothes. Casual Fridays didn’t happen often, but when they did it was a great chance to ditch the skirt and stockings in favour of some much comfier jeans, and let my style shine through a little. You already know how much I love Harlow – I have loads of their pieces in my wardrobe and every season I’m left swooning over their latest collection. This season is no different – Harlow SS15 has their classic rock vibe with the monochromatic looks they’re known for, and I’m super excited to be able to share a few of my favourites with you.
Lace doesn’t need to be reserved for underthings – I also like to wear mine on the outside. I find that it adds great texture to an outfit (especially if you like black on black as much as I do) and is ideal for layering.
