Wardrobe Staples: Save vs Splurge

Wardrobe staples for any budget - save vs splurge

When it comes to wardrobe staples, I think that you can find something great no matter what budget you’re working with. I’ve picked out five of my must have wardrobe items and found an option that’s luxe and one that’s less expensive, so you can decide where you’re going to save and where you’ll splurge. Stripes on stripes

This is Meagan Kerr wears K&K Stripe Mixed Panel Dress and Wide Brim Sun Hat

Unless you are very very new to my blog, you’ve probably realised that I love stripes by now. And the only thing better than stripes is stripes on stripes, right? I went to K&K to check out what they’ve got in store this summer and tried on everything I could get my hands on (I share my changing room try ons in my Instagram Stories and on Snapchat so make sure you follow me there!), and the thing I loved the most was this dress. Short legs and cropped pants

New Zealand plus size fashion blogger Meagan Kerr wears Kate Madison Lace Up Side Top and Cropped Bengaline Pants from The Warehouse

I’m pretty short and proportionally I have a long torso and short legs. I thought that this was the reason it has always been a nightmare for me to find trousers that fit me properly. I have had to hem my trousers for as long as I can remember, because pants weren’t just an inch or two too long, they were six inches to a foot too long. That’s the size of a bloody Subway sandwich isn’t it? Continue reading

Can I wear black to a wedding?

New Zealand plus size blogger Meagan Kerr wears 17 Sundays Arrow Print Dress

Wedding season is coming up and with it comes a question I get asked every year – “can I wear black to a wedding?”. Tradition states that wearing black to a wedding is a no no, apparently because it’s the colour of mourning and means that you don’t approve of the marriage. Sounds a bit passive-aggressive if you ask me! Continue reading

Swimsuit Special 2016: Tankini

Plus size swimsuit special 2016: tankinis

Personally I’m a fan of two piece swimsuits, because they allow me to mix and match tops and bottoms. There are a couple of different styles of tankini out there this season – ones that are fitted in the bodice and ones that are a looser fit more floaty style – which one do you prefer? Continue reading

I grew up in the 90’s

NZ plus size fashion blogger Meagan Kerr celebrates the revival of 90's style

I started high school in 1997 – I was 12 years old, fresh faced and just beginning to really establish my own style and sense of who I was as a person. The Craft had come out the year before and it’s safe to say that film had a big impact on how I dressed all through high school (and let’s be honest, that witchy aesthetic is still very much my style). Now it’s 2016 and I’m 32 years old, and I’m seeing 90’s fashion back in style again. Continue reading

Style Inspiration: Callie Thorpe

This is Meagan Kerr plus size style steal - Callie Thorpe

The concept of celebrity is a really strange one to me, and often when people talk about celebrities I don’t know who they are (fun fact: I only found out who Beyoncé was a couple of years ago when people were talking about her in my office). When the theme of “celebrity style” came up for the NZ Style Curvettes outfit challenge I was a bit stuck, so I decided to steal the style of one of my fellow blogger babes. Continue reading
