My workwear picks

Plus size workwear

I get so many people asking me where to find plus size workwear that I thought I’d scout out some ideas for you. As you know, I work from home and my days of dressing for the office are over, but I do really enjoy helping other people finding clothes they feel confident and awesome in, so let’s do this.

There are a lot of different dress codes out there when it comes to office outfits – some people have to have their shoulders covered; some must wear a suit; some can be as out there as they like. Then there’s the combination of what you want to wear – a blouse and tailored trousers, a skirt with a top, a blazer, a matching suit, a dress, with stockings or without? I’m going to group them into categories and you can mix and match from there to put together an outfit that you feel fabulous in.

TOPS

Blouses, tunics, shell tops, button ups … wear them alone or with a cardigan or blazer, pair them with trousers or a skirt or even culottes. Make sure your tops are comfortable, give you a good range of movement, and feel nice to wear – you’re going to be wearing them for a whole day after all! Even if you’re going for a classic white button up, you can still bring in interesting details with different fabrics, textured detail, buttons or cufflinks.

    Help please from Melbourne,
I gave recently discovered a City Chic outlet store very close to home that do alot of great work dresses. No I typically don’t ‘do’ dresses but bought one I love only problem is I can not find tights/stocking to wear with it.
Does anyone know where I could get a couple of pairs in Melbourne?

Hey Claire, what size are you looking for? Did you know that City Chic sells tights? They’re about $20 each xx

I feel very on trend and fashionable that I actually own several of these items, I love how you have included such a mix of expensive and budget friendly items – fashion blogs are so often just focussed on designer items. This is what sets you apart Meagan, and I love it ♡

Love a good shirt dress! I find it hard to find good blazers that strike the right balance between structured enough to look smart and slouchy enough to be comfortable. I’ll check out some of your suggestions!

I think that like jeans and swimsuits, blazers are one of those things that has to be the absolute perfect combo for *you* in order for it to be right!
