Where to buy plus size clothes

Where to buy plus size clothes

People are forever asking me where to find great plus size clothes. And as a woman who grew up in small town Aotearoa New Zealand I totally understand the struggle to find something that makes you look and feel fabulous, rather than a frumpy curtain crossed with a shapeless sack. I might be fat, but I love fashion! So, here you go: a directory of great places to shop for sizes 14+…

This is by no means a complete list – I’ll be adding to this as I discover great new places to buy plus size clothes in New Zealand and online, so make sure you check back regularly. If you come across another amazing plus size store you think I should check out, or you’re a designer who would like your brand listed here, let me know!

Hi Megan … great website, thanks for all the hard work finding and listing these businesses. Bit cheeky, but was wondering if you were about to order anything from Old Navy, coz just need a 4XL Men’s Go-Dry Cool Tee, but just one and I’m little put off purchasing just one item for an order to NZ? Having been able to find a supplier in NZ. Thanks for your time, Paula

Nope, sorry Paula – no orders planned at this stage

Hi Teresa – I can only find one piece on your site over a 16 at the moment, but please do let me know when you’re stocking a full range of plus x

    Hi Meagan

I’m a size 20 and I’ve bought a few pieces from Kow Tow (in sizes L and XL), perhaps they’re not strictly plus size but many of their designs are extremely loose-fitting. Glad you like Hall, I’ve spent far too much money there!

PS – absolutely love your site. I hadn’t been here before but saw the article in the recent Sunday magazine am now all over it. You’re amazing, thanks for sharing all your great ideas and finds with the rest of us 🙂

    • September 25, 2014 / 7:43 pm

Ooh, good to know, thanks Eve! I will have to try some of Kow Tow’s pieces on 🙂 And thanks, welcome to my blog! xM

I’ve recently discovered Kow Tow (www.kowtowclothing.com) – a lovely NZ label using fair trade organic cotton. They have gorgeous frocks and tops. Hall Clothing is also fab – they are online (www.hallnz.co.nz) and have a shop in Greytown 🙂

    • September 25, 2014 / 5:11 pm

Hey Eve, thanks for sharing! I’ve just checked out Kow Tow and it looks like they don’t do plus sizes – according to their measurements they go up to a size 16? Is that right? Hall looks amazing – I hadn’t heard of them before! Am now in love with so many pieces, and will add them to the directory 😉 xM

Hey Meagan, you should include my label, Bombshell Vintage. We do reproduction dressea and suits in all sizes! BombshellVintage.com.au

Autograph should have an asterix as well. Just opened up in Hamilton not so long ago and I hear they are also opening in Taranaki 🙂
