New Season Style at Farmers

Brought to you by Farmers – Your Department Store

Last week I went in to Farmers – Your Department Store to have a browse through their new season styles, and I’m happy to report that this season they have really upped their game! There are so many on-trend pieces throughout the store, and a lot of things in the plus size clothing section that were just crying out to be tried on, so I thought I’d share a few of my favourites with you…

 Monochrome

Peplum is still very much in fashion and will be for a long time to come! This is my favourite out of all peplum tops I’ve ever tried on – it’s a lovely pattern, an interesting texture, and it’s warm, which is perfect for spring. Also, it’s longer that the other ones I’ve tried on – important if you’re like me and have a big bust and a long torso.  I liked this peplum top so much that I had to buy it – you can see it on me in this post.

I really like the loose fit of this top – it skims over your tummy and is quite drapey, so if you want to wear something that isn’t fitted then this is a great choice. I’m loving those checks!

I’m loving the ponti/pleather mix that we’ve been seeing lately and this ponti panel skirt fits nicely into that trend. With pleather panels on the front and back, and ponti fabric on the sides, this skirt will hug your curves in all the right places.

One thing that Farmers – Your Department Store has really nailed this season is  sheer tops. There are a number of different style to choose from but this is my favourite because of the classic shape. You can pair a sheer button down shirt with jeans to dress up a casual look or tuck it into a high waisted skirt for something more dressy.

I love the mix of stripes and spots on this top, which would be perfect paired with leggings or cropped trousers.

Comfortable trousers with a slightly slouchy fit are a must-have wardrobe item for spring and summer, and I love these ones! I’ve got short legs so I love the fitted cuffs – this ensures that my pants aren’t dragging on the ground (does anyone else get that?!)

Denim

If you’ve been following my blog for a while, I’m pretty sure you will be familiar with my difficulties in finding a good pair of plain jeans. Well, I’m happy to say that Farmers – Your Department Store has come to the party with this pair – no embellishments, just great denim.

Nothing says warm weather like chambray! I love the casual style of a shirt dress and think this one would look great paired with leggings or bare legs (although I’d suggest saving that for a warmer and drier time!).

Floral

Florals are a spring staple, so it would be remiss of me not to include them! I love this soft floaty top – the sheer lightweight fabric is ideal for warm weather and the print incorporates coral, one of this season’s key colours.

This dress is quite possibly my favourite of all of the new season style pieces at Farmers! I think it’s the epitome of spring style – bright, fun, and flirty in a sophisticated cut that really looks like it was cut for a fuller figure. It wasn’t in store when I popped in last week, but I will definitely be popping in to try it on!

Visit your local Farmers – Your Department Store to check out these great new styles, and pop over to the Farmers website to see Your Style Edit!

What are you loving at Farmers this spring?

You are lucky to be getting the Samya stuff in store. I have been ordering it for a while through House of Fraser in the UK but have had a couple of things where the sizing has been all over the place so being able to try on would be so much better. If only they would find an Aus stockist too.

Being able to try things on definitely makes a difference! I really like Samya – fingers cross you get some stockists over there soon! xo

These are really lovely – Farmers have really picked up their fashion game in recent years. The Takapuna store is a bit lacking but I get so many good things at Albany Farmers.

Some of the stores get stock a little later than others so fingers crossed more style find their way to Takapuna soon! xo

    I like the stripe/spot tunic.
It’s good to know the peplum top is longer than usual, as I have found the ones in CC are too short for my long torso. So I might give that a try!

Hey Michelle, I would say that the peplum top runs maybe a size larger, which explains why it’s longer. Try it on and let me know what you think! xM
