Hello Harlow Denim…

Harlow Denim

The babes at Harlow have done it again! Their latest collection is so on point and they’ve just released two great pieces of plus size denim – the Paint It Black skinny leg jeans and Jean Genie indigo skinny leg jeans. They’ve spent a lot of time developing the perfect skinny leg fit for curvy babes, so if you’re a size 12-24 and on the hunt for a new pair of skinnies then listen up!

Harlow Jean Genie plus size denim jeans

Jean Genie is made from premium 11 oz Cotton/Elastane denim, with premium copper trims and finishes. It has classic 5 pocket styling, a zip fly, and is mid to hi rise, sitting just below your belly button. It’s the perfect classic skinny jean, that will wear into super soft and comfortable everyday wear (and how amazing does it look on babin’ Harlow model Megan Lamont?).

Harlow Paint It Black plus size denim jeans

The Paint It Black skinnies are made from 10 oz Cotton/Polyester/Elastane denim, with premium matt black trims and finishes. Like the Jean Genie style, they have classic 5 pocket styling, a zip fly, mid to hi rise and sit just below your belly button, but they’ve got a little more stretch than Jean Genie. These are my pick – I love a good pair of black jeans!

How do you look after your denim?

  1. Turn them inside out before you wash them. Machine washing is quite abrasive because the clothes are rubbing against each other as they wash – make sure you zip all of your zippers up and button your buttons as well!
  2. Stay cool. Wash at a cool temperature, on a gentle cycle. Both of these styles have elastane in them, and heat will make that deteriorate faster.
  3. Avoid the dryer. Line dry if you can, preferably in the shade (sun can bleach your denim, and is the worst for fading black clothes, as any experienced rocker or goth babe will tell you!). If you absolutely have to chuck them in the dryer, make sure you do it on a cool cycle to keep the heat from damaging the elastane!
  4. Use a special detergent for dark colours. More handy advice from someone whose wardrobe has long been filled with black clothes – these detergents are specially formulated to help keep those colours looking good for longer.
  5. Wash your jeans as little as possible. If you turn your jeans inside out, fold them up and pop them in a plastic bag (a shopping bag is fine), then put them in the freezer overnight, it kills off the bacteria and freshens up your jeans! Reserve the washing for when you actually get your jeans dirty.
