Halloween Costume: Wednesday Addams

I was putting together my post on Halloween costume ideas, and before I knew it I had “accidentally” purchased this dress. As soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to dress as Wednesday Addams for Halloween – she’s such a great character and really appeals to my dress sense.

Modcloth is one of those websites that I look at longingly every so often, unable to decide what to buy, so this was my first purchase from them. With the help of a measuring tape and reading the reviews that other people posted I decided on a size and crossed my fingers. I paid a little bit extra to make sure it was here in time for Halloween (shipping was US $33.19) and I’m happy to report that it arrived in just over a week, with plenty of time to spare.

The fabric is super soft and stretchy, so the dress is really comfortable. I think the only thing I don’t like is that it’s so short, I would have loved to have this just a few inches longer so the hemline was at my knee. I’m determined to make it work though, so I think I will wear it either with stockings or with ¾ leggings, depending on the weather.

I took these photos the other day (because Halloween falls on a Monday this year, and I have lots of work on), but you better believe that I am going to be wearing my Wednesday Addams outfit (with tights!) to the meetings I have scheduled for today! Go big or go home, right?

What are you dressing up as for Halloween?

You look so good! I love a dress that can be worn for occasions (like Halloween) but that you can wear all year round. Though really, I will wear obvious Halloween themed clothing all year anyway. Modcloth have some really cute stuff!`

You are so bloody cute! <3 I love Wednesday and dressed up as her for Halloween once before. This year I stayed in watching the X Factor and Strictly but I really enjoyed seeing everyone's costumes on social media, especially the kiddos and pets. 🙂

Thanks Leah! Halloween night was a quiet one for me too because I had work commitments, but dressing up for the day was super fun! I loved seeing everyone’s costumes this year, especially the doggos hehe

I did think about getting it altered but unfortunately the hem isn’t long enough to just let it out and I wouldn’t want to use a different fabric to add extra length. Happy Halloween Tessa!
