Gift Guide: Book Lovers

Looking for the perfect gift for your favourite book worm? I love to read in my spare time, so I wanted to share a few books that I love, some that are on my wishlist and a few things that will set the scene for reading.

Gift ideas for book lovers // Enchanted Forest: 20 Postcards by Johanna Basford, $17.99 | Wreck This Journal by Keri Smith, $30.99 | Shakespeare Chaise, $1299 | Kindle Paperwhite High Resolution 300PPI Display WiFi, $219 | Habito Cushion Brush Stroke Black 43cm x 43cm, $12.50 | Svenska Hem Stilla Cup & Saucer, $22.90 | ECOYA Jacaranda & Plum Metro Jar, $49.99 | Dr Seuss Print, $15.24 | DIY Tote Bag, AUD $19.99

I like to snuggle up when I’m reading, and setting the scene can make it all the more enjoyable. A comfy chair, cushions, snuggly throws, my favourite scented candle burning, a cup of tea… you get the picture. If your bookworm is a traveller then an e-reader can save lugging a whole bunch of books around in their suitcase – and if they already have one, you can give them a gift card!

Whether it’s a memoir, some easy to read fiction or something of a guide to life, there are so many great books around at the moment. I’ve read Life with a Sprinkle of Glitter and absolutely loved it – I think it’s so neat to see bloggers and vloggers publishing books (including New Zealand’s own Jamie Curry from Jamie’s World). Currently sitting in my reading pile is Jes Baker’s Things No One Will Tell Fat Girls : A Handbook for Unapologetic Living – I’m looking forward to reading that as soon as possible and will share my review with you.

Colouring has become very popular amongst adults this year – it’s calming and a great way to unwind. There are a lot of great books to choose from including ocean scenes, patterns and even scenes based on some of your favourite books. Coffee table books from your favourite photographer are a great gift, as is an annual like Guinness World Records. That one is especially popular with my 12 year old who likes to find the grossest records he can. If you’re looking for something really special, why not a favourite childhood book? The Gruffalo is one of my all time faves.

I really need to get in on the colouring trend! I attempted one but it was tricky with my baby, he loves to get involved and help which is cute but makes it difficult…maybe I’ll get a book we can share. I’d love to check out Kristina Webb’s book too, she’s such an incredibly talented young New Zealander.

Love this post Meagan, I can’t wait to read every one of them leading up to Christmas! I got my Nana one of those adult colouring books for Christmas last year (before the hype!) and she loves it! She’s 83. You’re never too old 🙂
