Florals and leaves

Spring is here, and with it comes florals. There are new flowers blooming (and if you live somewhere like me where the wind is unpredictable, they are also scattered all over the ground), and floral prints are hitting shop floors as well.  Florals don’t have to mean small Laura Ashley prints – they can be as big, bold and abstract as you want – and in my case, yes you can wear florals on a black background.

I got this kimono from EziBuy last year and I wore it a lot over spring and summer. It’s great to brighten up an all black outfit, finish off a jeans and tee combo, wear over your bathing suit as a beach coverup … you get the picture, it’s super versatile and I am most definitely planning to wear it a LOT over the coming months!

As someone who doesn’t wear a lot of accessories, I was a bit surprised to find that this necklace has made it’s way in to regular rotation so quickly. I love the boho vibe this long double stranded necklace has, and I’ve been wearing it to break up the black in my outfits over the last few weeks but can totally see myself wearing it with maxi dresses in the heat of summer.

So let’s talk about florals, seeing as it’s spring. Do you love ’em or loathe ’em? Do you think they’re clichéd and over done or do you like brightening up your spring wardrobe with them? Ooh I do love florals and Kimonos. I don’t care if florals aren’t ‘groundbreaking’ in Spring as Miranda Priestley would say. They’re just too darn beautiful.

Hehehe I thought of you (and Miranda) while I was picking this week’s theme. So good. Bring on all the flowerrrrrs

Love florals. LOVE. I actually wear floral on floral sometimes. It sort of reminds me of when I was four and dressed myself, but whatever, makes me happy.

Spring is still so chilly! I have a full length floral jumpsuit that is a bit too light to wear now but in summer, I love to rock it out. It’s super roomy and comfortable and the floral print makes it instantly glamourous. Girls always love it but my husband lovingly calls it “The Floral Abomination”. He’s not the type of man I could convince to wear florals. Yet.

Yeah, I had to switch out my kimono for a merino sweater this afternoon. Bring on that warm weather!

It’s so nice AND cost me less than $20. Nothing quite like bagging a bargain!

I’m slooooowly getting used to them. My idea of florals is usually a flower crown haha
