Taupo and Rotorua Travel Vlog

Chilling out at Five Mile Bay, Taupo

As we do almost every year, we decided to take our summer holidays in mid January when we knew the weather would be a bit nicer and after many people had gone back to work. Taupo is a really popular summer holiday destination, and we knew it was jam packed with visitors after our trip down for Christmas, so making the decision to wait a few weeks to return was a good one (and meant that our favourite spots weren’t full of people!). Air New Zealand Premium Economy Review

Living it up in Premium Economy on the way to Melbourne

I get a lot of questions about travelling as a person of size, more specifically flying while fat. One of the most common concerns seems to be about fitting in aeroplane seats, so when I flew to Melbourne last year I decided to purchase premium economy seats to see how they compared to economy seats. Melbourne plus size shopping haul: Emme from A+ Markets

When I went to Australia for Melbourne Fashion Week Plus recently, it was pretty much a given that while I was in Melbourne I would be scoping out the shops and seeing what great plus size brands I could find. There were a couple of things that made my life a lot easier while I was there that I wanted to share, plus I thought this would be a great chance to share a few of the things that I picked up on my journey. Keep calm and carry on

Keep calm and pack your carry on

My trip to Melbourne is just around the corner (I fly out this weekend), and now that I have my travel plans sorted it is time to think about what I’m packing. Clothes are pretty easy, I planned my outfits as soon as I knew for sure that I was going (which might sound excessive but I was doing a wardrobe clearout and wanted to make sure I had all the things I wanted to wear squirrelled away safely). What’s important to me is what goes in my carry on bags – the bits and pieces I will have to keep my comfortable and entertained for my flight. Continue reading

Making travel plans: This is Meagan Kerr x Warehouse Money Travel Insurance

In just a few weeks I’m going to be heading off on my first ever overseas trip by myself, so while the weather is cold and wet, I am making travel plans. I’ve been travelling solo around NZ for years but it seems like a much bigger deal when you’re going overseas. This is really the first time I’ve travelled abroad as an adult (while I was in my 20’s last time, it doesn’t count because my dad took care of all the details), and I really wanted to share this with you in case you might be new to travelling as well! Relaxing in Rotorua

Relaxing things to do in Rotorua: take the Skyline Gondola up Mt Ngongotaha

Whenever people talk about Rotorua, I’m used to hearing about what an amazing place it is for adventure – you can go zorbing, rafting, mountain biking, you name it. However, when I’m on holiday relaxation is the name of the game, so when we went down to Rotorua last month I was on a mission to find some things to do that were more my speed. Continue reading

Summer Travel Essentials // via Death To The Stock Photo

Summer is the time for travelling. A weekend away with your friends, a family camping trip, an overnighter with your beloved, the great summer roadie… it’s time to hit the road and do some exploring. But what do you take with you? When space is limited you want to make sure that you grab the essentials, and leave behind the things you won’t need. Continue reading

Wanderlust: a strong desire or impulse to travel

Genie from Bunny Eats Design asked if I want to indulge in a bit of wanderlust and answer a few travel questions. I’ve been getting itchy feet lately and am really looking forward to travelling again, so now is the perfect time to start thinking about travel. It’s been about eight years since I last travelled overseas, and I feel like I’m missing out. I did quite a lot of travelling when I was young, but not as an adult, so I have lots of great memories but very few photographs. Perhaps this is a sign that it’s time to travel again?
