Face masks and skincare

New Zealand plus size fashion blogger Meagan Kerr wears rainbow striped face mask from Toast Clothing Studio

2020 has brought us a new normal – wearing face masks. As of this week, wearing a face covering is advised where I live, and it’s mandatory on public and passenger transport. I’ve been wearing a mask for the last few weeks, every time I leave my house, and one thing I’ve noticed is how much it affects my skin! There’s been breakouts (aka maskne), dryness, irritation … so I asked Caroline Parker, Head of Education for Dermalogica NZ about face masks and skincare, and what we can do to take care of our skin at the moment. New Zealand plus size fashion blogger Meagan Kerr talks about how to help keep your skin hydrated in winter.

Five ways to relax

Meagan tries to relax with a cup of coffee and a mindful jigsaw puzzle

Relaxing isn’t really one of my strong points. When my therapist asked me what my hobbies were, I was kind of silent because honestly, I don’t really have any. Once the things I did as a hobby (photography and writing about fashion) became a part time job, they stopped being the relaxing “hobby” they used to be. Since then, I’ve been trying to find ways to relax, things to do in my down time, that aren’t “work”. Things that allow me to switch off. Here’s a few things I have tried (some with more success than others!) in case you need to unwind too. View Post
