Double Cleansing

Double cleansing step one: Dermalogica Precleanse Balm

When you wash your face, how well are you actually cleaning it? I remember in my teens and early twenties, that I would wash off my makeup and still wake up with panda eyes. Or sometimes, not wash my makeup off at all… I know, naughty. When I did wash my face, it was only a vague attempt with a makeup wipe or a quick scrub with a face cloth. Drunk early 20’s Meagan just wanted to fall into bed, she didn’t care about cleaning her makeup off!

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realised that I actually need to take care of my skin. Part of that is making sure I clean it (properly). I was introduced to double cleansing in my 30’s, and I haven’t looked back. View Post

Review: Lush Sleepy Body Lotion

Lush Sleepy Body Lotion Review

A whole bunch of people have noticed the Sleepy Body Lotion from Lush in pictures and videos of my bedroom, and have been asking me questions about it. I’ve been using it for almost a year now, so I thought maybe it was time I finally got around to writing a review.

I feel like I’m that girl who is forever on the hunt for the ultimate products to help me sleep, probably because I work super hard for way too many hours and then stay up until all hours watching Netflix/scrolling endlessly through social media. I know, it’s totally my own fault. One thing that helps me to relax and switch off is having a bedtime routine. Sitting down and applying the Sleepy Body Lotion before I go to bed helps me to moisturise my skin, get in touch with my body, and relax, all while doing something nice for myself. Ticking so many self care boxes! View Post

I tried this product courtesy of Lush but all opinions are (as always) my own.

Review: Remington Smooth & Silky Ultimate Cordless Wet/Dry Epilator

Remington Smooth & Silky Ultimate Cordless Wet/Dry Epilator

After I had surgery on my knee earlier in the year I had to reassess what kind of hair removal I was using. Fact is, standing in the shower shaving my legs takes a long time and put a lot of strain on my fragile knee. That, combined with the amount of water that gets used while you’re shaving? Time to try something new.

I’ve tried waxing and depilatory creams, but waxing is expensive (to get my arms and legs done would cost $70 every four to five weeks – might not seem like much to some people but I’d rather spend my money on other things like getting my nails done). While I find depilatory creams effective, the hair grows back faster than I’d like. Laser hair removal is out of my budget for now, and so I decided to try an epilator. The last time I talked about hair removal, lots of you mentioned that was what you used, so I put my fears aside and tried out the Remington EP7036AU Smooth & Silky Ultimate Cordless Wet/Dry Epilator. Christmas in July

Lush Christmas in July

Thanks to living in the southern hemisphere where winter is in the middle of the year and we celebrate Christmas in summer, some people celebrate a mid-winter Christmas as well (um hello, do we need an excuse for Christmas dinner and mulled wine at two times of the year?!). There are a lot of companies that get on board with this, and my personal fave is Lush because it means we get some of the much loved Christmas treats in the middle of the year as well. Hurray! I went in to check out the new Queen Street flagship store and have a few of the Christmas in July treats that I wanted to show you as well. Bring on all the goodness. View Post

Lush is one of my very supportive blog partners, and the items featured in this video were gifted to me. As always, all opinions are my own.

Dealing with stress

Feeling stressed? Check out these tips for dealing with stress

Everyone has some kind of stress in their lives – it might be studying for exams, a new baby, having a looming deadline, a big event coming up … it looks different for all of us. At the moment, my main form of stress centres around being unwell and my recent surgery – pretty unsurprising, really.

For me, stress shows up in a few ways. I feel exhausted but find it hard to sleep; I find it really difficult to focus; I start burning the candle at both ends; I snap at people around me; my skin breaks out and it also affects my appetite. Obviously not ideal! Dermalogica launched their new Stress Positive Eye Lift recently and it got me thinking about how I react to stress. I wanted to share how I make sure I’m looking after myself when I am going through a stressful time, and give you a chance to try out some of that Stress Positive Eye Lift for yourself. View Post
